I wouldn't have thought that any of the V6 range would get LSD's as standard equipment, most people wouldn't need them or know what they are?

    Its not uncommon.
As people have already pointed out, VE V8 Autos fitted to Berlinas, Calais and Calais V do not got LSD.
Try driving one of these in the wet and see how useful traction control is !!!

Also using Ford as an example,
The Only FG Ford that gets LSD standard is the XR6 Turbo. The G6E Turbo (Same running gear) has LSD as a very expensive option.

Both Ford and Holden tended to drop LSD from many models when they started to bring in traction control and ESP.
(Ford around the BA days slyly marketed it as an ELECTRONIC LSD), since the Bosch 4Ch ABS used could apply the brake to individual rear wheels when spin was detected on one, which would force power to go to the wheel with traction.

I have a friend who works in a diff shop and laughs everytime someone brings a BA XR8 and asks why it's spinning singles. Open the
Cover and all they are is an open center with an LSD tag

on ser1's its std on ss/v man/auto so it should be on yours as well. cant see why a ser2 would be any different. why not crawl under and have a look?

Why would they give you the option of an HSV diff? Non HSV LSDs are 2.92 for auto and 3.45 for manual.
