Id say around $28,000-$31,000 what does your mate think it is worth? and what do you think its worth?
he also has to remember alot of buyers are not looking for exhaust and big mags.
BTW what does your exhaust sound like? sounds like a good set up
any damage to the body work from those old tyres scrubbing?
I think the mods reduce the market size of people who'd buy it (to enthusiasts) but those buyers (if they trust you've looked after the car and not flogged it half to death) might pay some premium over a stock VE.
However I've no idea what that price is.
So I'd start higher than redbook VE price for its Kms, but how much higher is the question... dunno.
I was thinking high 20's he was thinking low thirties ... The reduced market is the killer and I know it's about the quality of the car ... No drew there is no damage from the Tyres scrubbing

And the exhaust sounds awesome ... I went on a cruise with the guys not long ago and they all said it sounded good so I'm happy with it

Biggest problem with an obviously modified car is what me and nearly everyone else i know thinks when they first look at a modified car:
Were the mod's done by the owner? Is it a hack job? What other things have been done that might be dodgy?
Then, the mind put's you into motion of looking for faults with everything that's not mean't to be there.
You also need to look at what your intended market is for a buyer. Most average people dont want an already modified car due to higher insurance costs.
Enthusiasts like to do things themselves and if the mods aren't to their tastes, they wont be wanting to pay more for things they'll ditch in order to get the mods they want instead.
########s will grab it just cause they think it's cool and thrash it... prob not in your case as value of your car is probably out of their price range.
Then you'll have the small demographic of people who'll see it's not quite normal, but will be happy to have something that's been "played" with just so they dont have to bother personalising it as it's already been done.
Point is, the more you modify a car, the harder it is to sell it due to less of the buying market being interested in it.
the more it's modified, the more you appreciate your car, the less the next person will because it's no longer factory pristine, it has been "molested"!!!
No offence intended, modifying a car comes down to personal taste. 90% of the time a car is modified, nobody else will 100% like the whole package, there'll be things that aren't to their preferences. It's really rare to see a daily driven car that's modified that has been built up to have a good theme to tie all the mods together, nearly every car i see on the road's are either: all the usual mod's to make it the special model they couldn't afford to buy in the first place... or an eclectic mix and match of shit thrown together with no real thought put to it (and the last part is what most people tell me what they think of modified cars)
I've helped my father in law now and then at his car yard in lismore, I discuss with non car people who question me about cars they've seen or about my cars and 9 times out of 10, i get the same point of view from the average road user.
I'd be looking at high red book value using the low kay's to offset the fact it's been molested.
Side note, pisses me off when i sell a car the buyer asks for a dodgy reciept with a lower sale price to pay less stamp duty... downside to this is redbook and other's collect that info from the rta to provide their average value on cars...... every time we "sell" a car dirt cheap.... we're making that model car worth less bit by bit for everyone else who owns one.
Have a look what they value my VH SS at, trust me, I'd never sell mine for what redbook thinks my car's worth.
Yeah good point ... I don't really want to get rid of it ... Hopefully I won't have to thanks for the advice

It's not worth as much as you think.
Truth be told mate, 28K MAX.
Limited market due to mods.
Very rarely do cars ever give a return.
Cheers.
Mike
To be honest that's exactly where I thought high 20's
And considering how much the car owes me I haven't got a chance in hell of making a profit or even getting back what I bought the car for

In my experience ~40% depreciation in first 2 years and ~50% at 3 years if you can sell it.
Best way to recover costs is to take all the mods off and put it back to standard and sell the car "as is" and sell all the "bling" separately as that the only way to get value for the mods as if there still on the car then it doesn't add value.
The problem is that when your selling car is you all always want more or think your car is worth more but when you go to buy a new one the psychology changes and you never want to pay anywhere near what the seller wants. Its finding that compromise thats causes many sales to take too long.
Given Holden can’t sell new ones and you can get great deals and huge discounts I would be surprised if you get above $25K unless you find some young dude that just wants it and has daddy’s $$$$ in his pocket.
Yeah most modded cars will sell for less then an ones in original factory specs. I never buy modded cars as the chances are they have been driven hard. Take the exhaust off and sell it, put the standard wheels back on and sell the wheels. Its ok to leave the CAI and manifold spacers ect as most people wont notice them anyway.
