hey guys my ve SV6 Sidi 2010 Sedan its a manual the other day i moved the car and found a pool of oil and the dip stick was showing very low oil so I took it to my macanic and we lifted the car and found no oil leaks the only problem there was were thinking if its burning oil? its only got 36,000kms
what do you guys think?
Your mechanic probably left the sump plug loose and wasnt about to admit it.
Silver Certified.
well we lifted the car and looked under there is no oil leaks we topped it up its fine now but what should we do?
Yes I would firstly check the Sump Plug and make sure its done up reasonably tight.
Also check the Oil filter and make sure its not loose. If the oil filter is loose, it will leak oil from the seal.
My previous VY Commodore leaked from the Oil Filter which was a Volvoline Filter, and even after replacing it with a new Valvoline Oil filter, it still leaked.
Ended up using a Ryco filter and never had the problem again.
If there was oil on the ground, then it has to be leaking from somewhere. If it was burning oil then there wouldn't be oil on the ground.
we dont know all we know is there was oil ont he ground and the dip stick had only a little oil left like you could just see a bit of oil on the dip stick we took it to our macanic and we lifted the car there was no signs of oil leaks anywere we topped it up and its fine now but the car should not of been leaking full stop
the car is booked in at holden on monday to have a look at everything we just dont get how it happend
yeah I will im worried about leaving car at holden because last time i drove past the holden guy took a maloo ute out and full put hes foot down hopping they dont do that to mine
They shouldn't be allowed to do that. Only problem I had with Holden was when I took my Statesman there to get the reverse sensors fitted. When I got it back they changed a radio station and turned the bass level up, so they were messing around with the stereo a bit.
Big deal, the cars are fine to do that with.
Yes they can get in big trouble if caught doing that....however it is possible it was the drivers Maloo...still not good practice in front of customers

Pretty sure your answer is in post #2![]()
Its at holden now picking it up tommorrow
My MY10 VE SV6 burned quite a but of oil up to about the 30,000 mark. Seems to be a common problem that fixes itself. Just keep a good eye on your levels.
