As said above, MACE are tuning the SIDI, the VCM/MACE OTR is still a few weeks off, Steve will be able to give a better idea on time.

ive been tuning SIDI for years, like actually custom tuning them, not just slapper mail orders...

i tested the ORssom OTR which is almost ready for sale, it works well but you cannot put it on a car with out a tune as the car will run like ass, and it will require a proper tune not a slapper tune..

Dale from CHE (the above forum member 10sec_rx7), you really are a sad old man. You offer slapper mail order tunes so you really are a hypocrite, besides the mace tune isn't mail order, much more sophisticated than that and you know it. For $440 the Mace tune really is better value than your $1000 dyno tune. A few members on here have had to get mace to touch up anyway considering you didn't really do a good job.

If anyone wants a customisable tune, I'd stick with Mace eng. The best thing about Mace, is they don't go around pathetically putting down companies with a good product and/or service. He doesn't need to.

The sad part is, if you actually sat down and talked to Steve, and offered advice for further alloytec/SIDI/Holden V6 development instead of bickering like a bitter defeated old man. We, the end user might actually get some further benefit out of these engines.

Wrong. The mace tune is customisable.

    You still miss the point...

Walk into mace and ask him to pull 2 deg of timing out of your tune on the spot.. He can't do it..

I'm not on a high horse, his tunes may be customizable but the are far from custom

    Adam,

Given you’re already a tune customer of ours, you will not be charged for a tune revision with any OTR. Hopefully we should have our VCM/MACE OTR on the market early next year. We’re still nutting out the production side of things.

Mick’s been driving with his OTR on for a while now, with his original SS Inductions tune, we supplied him without any problems. His tune has not been tweaked to suit yet.

You haven’t figured it out yet? Our company operates exactly the same way that Centerlink does except for the automotive enthusiast inclined. Every single customer of ours is supplied parts and money for free.

Hypocrisy is just a word and may or may not be used in this context

Can you do this in real time?

Also when is a customizable tune not a custom tune. I’m confused? It has the word custom in it LOL

I can’t write on behalf of other tunes out there, all I know that the tunes we supply, often have to be tweaked, beyond little quirks customers request, in particular fuelling.

At the end of the day though, if we come across any tuning issues it’s really my neck on the chopping block, not yours, so why do you care how and what we do so much?

You can’t leave us alone why?

What exactly have I done wrong?

It's a sad day when you chase MACE around all the car forums rubbishing his products.

Well....for people like me...this kind of behaviour means that CHE has just lost a potential customer due to constant public bashing of competition...

It's got to the point where I will just stay clear and give my business to people that seem open and honest and don't act like they discovered a new continent...

Ive had CHE do a few things to my last two cars and their work has always been great, including the VCM tune on my SV6 which was $950, not 1000 btw. I don't see how a mail order tune would get results like Dale did on the dyno. Even with data logging you can't beat realtime tuning on a dyno. That said i can't wait to get some manifold spacers and CAI setup from MACE.

I'm always very suspicious of a business who chooses to rubbish other peoples products rather than promote theirs based on their own merits.....Not a good way to do business

I don't think anybody would disagree that dyno tuning is the best way, but not everybody has the coin or is close enough to CHE to be able to make use of that facility. Dyno tuning is a premium service. What we have issue with is that Dale is rubbishing a competitors product and comparing it to a simple mail order tune which it is clearly not. Dale is now offering the same service but at a much higher price, I guess he doesn't like a little competition in the market place.

I was referring more to the fact that Kuzman said a few people have had to get mace to fix a tune that Dale has done. In my experience CHE's work is top notch.

This type of thing is best kept private gentlemen, everyone will do things differently, which is just as well because the consumers have different preferences.

Hope you get it sorted, in the mean time the 67953 members and guest can watch this posturing.
    Is this it?

One is a member on here, and I was referring to the SIDI's anyway, considering Dale/CHE is the be and end all of alloytec tuning. Obviously not the case. I think Dale really needs to grow up and realise that he isn't the only one who can tune these cars. Which is a GOOD thing, as not everyone in Australia with a V6 wants to go to NSW to get their car tuned!! Mace eng. have done us a MASSIVE favour with these alloytecs/SIDI. He offers tuning at a good price, which has lifted the game on these underdeveloped motors and offered us more aftermarket gear for these cars and is continuing to do so, he busted his guts to get the guy who cracked it over in the states to supply us the tune. And Steve has done it by his own initiative. Further to this, he offers free advice on his own time, great guy to talk to, really knows his stuff and doesn't need to put others down. And here Dale/CHE is skipping over forum to forum in every thread that has anything to do with Mace, and just rubbishes them. Poor form.
