Hey guys,
My brother has an 08 SSV Manual ute, its done 132000 km and of recent has been popping out of 1st gear if not really forced in there, makes a horrible bang noise however once in drives fine....Only does it in 1st, all other gears are fine. Went to Holden the other week and they done a slight clutch adjustment and it felt okay however this morning it popped out again, Went to a diff/gearbox shop and they reckon its the syncros in the box, I find that hard to believe as 90 percent of the KM/s are highway travel and its always in 6th.
Anyone had this issue and if so how they fix it???
Clutch is not slipping and when flat out it there is no vibrations in drivetrain
Cheers
Not that issue - but had the gearbox replaced 4 times due to suspected synchro failure. So wouldn't surprise me. And that is 4 replacements in ~40,000km. The current gearbox is almost 20,000km old, so fingers crossed.
My SSV Wagon has the same issue. It only has 60,000k and has always had the problem. Never got it checked as was told by some that it is normal in these cars. Have you found a solution yet?
sounds like a synchro issue man .. damaged heaps when i had my old drift R32
