    Default Group buy, highflow cats?

Just wondering if anyone would be up for a high flow catalytic converter group buy?

Been looking around on American sites and these look alright and get decent reviews

Pypes 2.5" Highflo High Performance Mini Metallic Catalytic Converters, pair | eBay

Could do locally too, just wanted to know if the interest was there as me and another member will probs be getting a set.

Going for "random unnamed" brands is sometimes considerably good and cheap, BUT in this case im sure you love your car and you dont want to damage it, and apart from that you will have to do all the welding, making holes for sensors, buying flanges, buying sensors etc.. on your own (which means more $), and another thing is that your car is going to throw you the P0420 error code regarding the cats oxygen sensor all the time (unless your car is tuned and it needs retuning, or for stock cars that will need to get their car tuned to avoid the errors, which means paying more $ again).
Or, you can get the best cats made at the moment for the holdens which are the outlaw cats (from quality, reliability and performance/economy perspective) and all you need to do is bolt them on and they wont throw you the engine light if you fit them CORRECTLY on a stock car without a tune. Only thing is, they are designed to bolt on straight to the hm headers and to the perry exhaust which completes the whole exhaust system. Not trying to show off what i have put on my car, but saying this, i have done my research for months (feb i put on the catback and Nov i put on the headers and cats) regarding the headers, cats and catback and i can assure you that its worth every cent. Its a bit pricey, but im sure you would prefer reliability, quality and assurance over cheapness, unreliable and poor quality.

Now, on the other hand i might be wrong and i will happily apologize.

The other thing is, a lot of people on this forum get excited about a lot of things and want to purchase the items for their car, but as soon as they hear the price or when the time comes to pay they back out.
Personally, if your gonna do a group buy to save $10-20 maybe even $30, better buy it on your own full price (since your excited in getting some cats soon) and not wait for however long the rest decide to agree with the group buy.

SV6power, get where you're coming from, but most cats that you buy from here are simply rebranded Cats from the USA. So I don't see the issue in saving abit of money, considering how well the dollar is at the moment. From what I've read Pypes is actually a pretty decent brand in the states. The fact they are cheap, just shows how much more we pay over here. Why should I pay $250 a cat for Ballistic racing cats, when they are sourced overseas for probably a 1/3rd of that?

Otherwise, no offence taken, I didn't see the point in spending huge amounts on my exhaust, especially when it's 2.25" anyway and I don't want it any bigger, so I modified it myself, pacemaker headers, straight through pipe, through a set of high end mufflers. I'm confident I can install a set, and will most likely be getting a retune so not concerned about codes.

So yes, I've done it on the cheap, but doesn't mean the quality isn't there. I was going to order a set in the next week or two and would order additional ones if people were interested.

Why don't you just go for something like this then:

    Just another WordPress site#|#Xplode Performance

Though I guess 100cell is just like having straight through pipe then huh

    fingers crossed

but if you went for 100cell cats, you might as well have gone for a straight through pipe since there is hardly any exhaust flow restriction difference.

    Isn't 100cell illegal though?

except not having a cat at all is a 10,000 fine, plenty of people running around with 100cpsi cats. Even a 200cpsi cat would probably fail an emissions test.
