Safest bet, rather than stuffing around with opinions, is to grab a tape measure and take a measurement from the hub to the guard, front and rear - and then take a measurement of where you want the guard to be. Then just give Greg from GSL Rallysport a call and he'll be able to match you with a set of springs at the height you want.

I'd personally recommend fitting shortened shocks front and rear at the same time - I didn't and have regretted it every day since I had the springs put in. Also, swap your strut mounts for urethane ones and any other rubber bushings you'd care to change at the same time - try and get as much work done as you can with the one labour fee.

You get what you pay for . as tin snips said do it once and get it all done otherwise in a few months you'll be changing the shocks and more labour. Ask the guys at gal and they will fix you up

You can get a full set of fully adjustable XA coilovers for around the $2000 mark, give or take a few hundred either way... Depending on who you know etc. I had mine done and recommend them 100%. If it's too stiff, you can soften it up... too soft, you can stiffen it And change the ride height as you wish too (may require a professional depending on your mechanical aptitude)

I had my VE2 SSV wagon lowered to SSL (about 4.4cm lower than stock) with springs only, then after driving it for a while I wished I'd done shocks and springs at the same time. It didn't handle very well, and felt boaty.

I went back and had shocks done now, and the handling is much improved. I went to Pedders because I wanted a completely warranted system as its a work car, but Pedders cost a lot more than if you organise it through GSL.

So get a shock and springs kit from GSL, then have them fitted at Jax Quickfit, and you'll have an affordable solution that feels good.
Ideally also get bushes for the rear subframe fitted at the same time. GSL can supply these too. You'll find it's recommended by many people, as the stock void bushes are pretty crap.

Coilovers are much firmer, generally, more track oriented. Personally wouldn't suit me. I went with firm shocks instead.

Personally I would take the car to a good suspension work shop that will do the job properly, and will come with warranty if something go's wrong (not that it should).
For intense if i had got springs off e-bay (kings SSL front and rear) they would have been wrong for the car, the work shop that did my had to do the rear a couple of times to get the right height (ended up with SSL front and SL rear). And go for KYB shocks. I have 19"
Had my done for $900 springs, shocks all round and fitted.

Coilovers are all good until they need to be rebuilt. Better spending that amount of cash on a decent spring/shock/swaybar combo.

Also SSL front and SSSL rear will make your car look like its broken and dragging the arse.

Go ahead and part void your warranty, anything that is not standard when you purchased the vehicle is classed as a mod, and Holden will not accept a warranty claim if your vehicle needs repair. It will only affect the actual parts you replace, i.e. if you replace the springs, your shocks will not be covered due to the lower ride
    height.
Unless all is done by a Holden Service Tech.

All is in your books when you purchased the car
