hey guys, im thinking about gettin an x force 2 1/4 inch duel twin system from the cats back. this is for my Ve 60th ann. would there be any problems??
Yes.
I would go a 2 1/4" Pacemaker system over the X Force any day, but if you want to save some money now, go for it. But you will only spend more money down the track when you aren't happy with the X Force.
does your 60th already have dual outlets?
if it you'll need to do more work to get the dual outlets in there.
they are very quite for the cat back. if you want the proper v8 noise you need a full system.
na it doesn't but i dont mind either buying another rear bumber with the 2 outlets and another bracket to hold the 2nd exhaust up.
only on my red p's thiou mate once im fully licensed straight to a maloo ill go or a r8 clubby. love the silver or white ve clubbies
How much would i be looking at for a full xforce duel twin 2 1/4 inch system?? including headers??
Well I got the 2.5 Xforce catback in stainless steel for $1500 installed and now it sounds like a V8, I couldn't be happier
It is louder at all times, I don't really notice it much but then I maybe lucky I've driven locomotives for 20 years and the hearing has suffered. All modifications to an exhaust system that make it louder will result in higher noise levels (drone) when cruising and those that say theirs doesn't are bull shitting
Ohh, having said that I was told by the fitter that it will change when the system carbons up
Higher noise levels aren't the same thing as drone. Drone is the horrid resonance that is migraine inducing, usually at low RPM. Not all aftermarket exhausts have this. The car will obviously be louder with an aftermarket set-up, but it is certainly possible to not have drone.
What a crock of shit. So you get the throbbing vibrating noisey drone through your car the whole time do you?
If this is the case, you need to asshole the exhaust you have and get another one. Mine at cruise has no drone, just a nice strong note. Your definition of drone is all screwed up.
READ THIS: Chipmaster Dyno Tuning Homepage from Chipmaster, Quote from them now "Since last issue we have tested 6 different 3" combo's from Difillipo ,Xforce ,Manta ,D&T ,Sureflow and KPM and all have made similar power but each and every system has droned badly"
The sad fact is EVERY aftermarket exhaust drones, it occurs because you change mufflers
Definition of MUFFLER (noun)
1a : a scarf worn around the neck b : something that hides or disguises
2: a device to deaden noise; especially : one forming part of the exhaust system of an automotive vehicle
Yes, certainly not as tough as a supercharged V16
To quote the boys from Chipmaster "Since last issue we have tested 6 different 3" combo's from Difillipo ,Xforce ,Manta ,D&T ,Sureflow and KPM and all have made similar power but each and every system has droned badly", so which magic system do you have? Sounds like you may have kept the stock mufflers.
When was that written??
If the pipe length, size and shape and muffler design are correct, the exhaust will not be at the frequency to drone. The car will be louder, yes - but it won't drone.
I have to stop biting. That can be my mission for 2012.
I often wonder if ALL those that diss XForce systems have actually tried them. Obviously some have but others probably have jumped on the bandwagon to put them down.
I have actually gone from a near custom 2.5" S.S. to a XForce 3" MS and I love it. It has a great sound and the tune has actually even got rid of some of the previous drone I had.
I say, dont knock it till you've tried it. And for the money you cant beat them
Having been in the exhaust industry for 20 + years, I have come across just about every brand that is on the market. Going by personal experience and the testimonials of quite a few people I have come to the same conclusion as the majority of people I have either spoken to or read about.
Exhaust note is subjective, everyone has a different opinion as to what sounds good or bad, but the general consensus is that XFORCE are loud, drony and a pain in the arse to fit.
The biggest problem with "custom" systems, is that people just chop shit out or replace mufflers with smaller resonators to make it louder, not actually fit a muffler or a system suited to that particular vehicle. Altering a stock system or changing a bolt on system is not really "custom". Fabricating a system from scratch to match the engine output and the customers expectations is a true custom system.
And that quote above was in answer to a specific question about a system on a V6.
We had a customer fitted with an OTR + XFORCE 3" catback exhaust on a Series 3 GTS made 272rwkw (pretty impressive lol) but the customer came back because it's "not loud enough" and complained so we sold him a cam pack along with a full 2.5" system and refunded his money on the 3"... now the car has in an incredible note to it and as for droning it's pretty much non existant and it doesn't have that piece of shit horrible back off noise that other exhausts brands have.
we have used combination of pacemaker headers with xforce cat back and the cars sound really mean (not that they didn't with the xforce one but customers are anal about shit) but to be honest there isn't much of a difference in sound and I'd be really surprised if you could even tell the difference.
back to the V6 discussion cat back exhaust be it xforce or what ever brand you go for will probably sound very similar as 90% of the noise is muffled by the extractors + cats in these things..
