    Default 45,000 kilometer service

What should I pay? Is there much to do?

I was thinking of forgetting about the extended warranty

At Holden it will be around $100 more than the minor services as they change air filter, remote batteries. May be time for brake fluid too depending on age of car??

^^^ most extended warranties stipulate that servicing needs to be carried out by the purchasing dealership/chain. Manufacturer's warranty will remain though, so long as scheduled servicing is maintained and genuine parts used.

Just got my 45k service done yesterday.
Dealer quoted $440, Goodyear $310. It's more expensive than a minor service because you got to change the air filter- apparently a $70 part... bloody genuine parts .
For an extra $60 I got Goodyear to change brake fluid too (must be changed every 2 years).

Just make sure when you get quotes from mechanics you state "LOGBOOK" service... which requires genuine parts = costs more.

Dealer servicing is for shmucks .

P.S. Putting "Australia" in your location prevents people from offering decent mechanics in your local area. Just sayin.
