    Default Hurricane Exhausts

I'm looking at exhausts for my 2010 VE SSV Auto.
If I could afford it, I would probably go a full 3inch KPM system with Ceramic Coated headers, however I can't afford that.

I've heard video's of the Hurricane exhaust, and it sounds good. I've also read some other comments on here that have been made about them, I can't seem to find any negative ones though...

My question, to any of you that have the system, do they drone?
What are they like to live with?
I plan on getting a full system, hurricane headers, cats and 3inch cat back.

    Thanks for any help

mate I have a full hurricane system on my ute. 4 into 1 headers,1.7/8 primaries, 100 cpi outlaw cats, 3" mandrel bend system, no drone at all but as I said mines a ute (auto) but I"d say a sedan would be no different. Bit loud when you first get it but once it burns in it quiet"s down a bit. nice livable cruise note but really explodes when your up it. their mufflers are well sorted. mind you it's probably not legal noise wise but what isn't these days. Hope this helps

I have a Hurricane system. 1 7/8" 4 into 1's Ceramic coated, 2 1/2" mild steel system. When I got mine a couple years ago they had 2 levels of rear mufflers. Mine are the quieter ones and are fantastic. IMO there is still by minor drone but quite acceptable.

Bladerunner, I thought Hurricane came with 200cpi cats. Did you have the ballistic cats fitted later and did it make much difference to the sound?

yeah mate they do come with them (200 cpi cats) but i had these put on as they were offered to me cheap after a mate sold his car and had'nt put them on his. noise wise not really much difference, mine being mafless tuned the fumes are a bit more noticable,i went with the idea that they were more free flowing but hav'nt really noticed much difference to be honest but they're on now so might as well leave them there

Ok. Thanks, that sounds good. I am replacing my cats next week and will get Ballistic 100cpi.

I have the 4 into 1 1 7/8" extractors and 2 1/2" mild steel system. It's the louder system, but it doesn't cackle when you shift down, just a nice burble. Not too loud until you gas it with the go-pedal and it sounds farkin nice! i should get a video of mine. It has a bit of a drone at the usual 1,800rpm level, but it's tolerable. Mine has the hurricane 200 cell cats.

I've been calling around, looking into it all, I can get a full Pacemaker system for not much more than the Hurricane System... So I'm thinking maybe I'll go with the Pacemaker system, thoughts?
Later down the track I'm planning to get it cammed, so regardless of what exhaust system I end up going for, it would be worthwhile spending a few hundred more and getting the extractors ceramic coated, wouldn't it?

I do Hurricane extractors 1 7/8" primary tuned length, Hurricane 200 cell high flow cats and a Manta 2 1/2" twin system with quad tips for $2565 shipped to your door. All bolt on, no cutting or welding.

Keep in mind the video was taken on a cheap stills digital camera, but you get the drift.

Why a manta catback rather than the Hurricane catback?

I can get a full Pacemaker system, 1 3/4" 4 into 1's, euro 2 cats and 3" catback for a similar price... So I'm thinking maybe I'll go that, thoughts?

Are the cats bolt on? And they should really be Euro 4 cats for the VE, which the ones I supply are.

I do the Manta cat back because I think they sound better and there is no drone. I wouldn't fit a 3" at all.
