what new head decks are there out for a ve sv6

umm... for info please. do you mean REPLACES the stock unit?
because that's unheard of in the VE, as the car's security system is entwined with the crap stock unit. many many owners would love to get rid of it, but cannot.

so if you've got some insight into a pioneer product that does replace the stock unit, that's the biggest news for the VE in years.

I've been looking at this replacement fascia including HVAC controls.... VE Double DIN facia and Heater controls now available

Allows you to install a variety of double din units and links into the system so full steering wheel controls are maintained.

Your best bet is to install the colour LCD Radio/HVAC unit from an SSV/Calais/HSV

These units go for around $350 - $600 on eBay, depending on condition, and if they include the dual zone module or not.

Once you get one of these, you will need to program them to work with your car.
I ???? THINK ???? I have cracked how to do this will a cheap 24Cxxx EEPROM programmer and 3M SOP clip.

These units have composite video input (Which will need VIM hackng if you want to display video while the car is in motion)
They also have a VGA input for Sat Nav, but to enable the input you will need the Factory Sat Nav to GMLAN module..

hi yes there is new fasicas and head units avaliable for the ve's alpine has this one out Alpine Electronics of Australia and pioneer has this one out DEX-P99RS Component Reference Series CD Tuner - Pioneer Car Stereo - Digital Media Receiver , go to youtube and watch they have been out for a while , i just assumed every1 new about then hahaha Quasi VE/G8 FASCIA WITH STEERING CONTROLS (PIONEER) - YouTube watch this you tube video it is awsome what they can do thanks

Yes, have seen those. But facias are not strictly made by either pioneer or alpine - and kind of look like they belong in a delorean. The only thing that is available at the moment that I would even consider binning the stock HU for in my car is some of the iPad installs going around. CBF otherwise unless some other option comes out that looks and performs like a modern interface.

I've seen these headunit replacements in the past. Not a huge fan to be honest.... looks cheap.

I like the replacement facia, but all i want is a single or double din replacement facia and stock looking HVAC controls. Dont want it to look 'uber future austin powers' like, just want to get rid of stock crap headunit.

It's not that bad u can put any head unit in doesn't really matter what brand. I have jvc for now but I'm going to change to alpine when I have the coin. Beats Holden standard one.

For the fascia you can't really buy any, you could get someone to make a custom one however I doubt it would be much cheaper.
