So have you fitted it yet?

If not, fit it and see what it sounds like before asking what to do to make it sound good.

replace the factory cats. they limit the sound heaps allthough i'm not sure if you can just replace the cats without doing the extractors too

Not really, the exhaust system is the thing that changes the note and makes it louder, the cats will make it louder again when fitting high flows, but they won't be the problem in this particular instance. Hurricane's website is being updated so I can't even look at the system, but I'd say their design is what makes it quiet.

Yeah mate it has Mufflers at the rear they dont look that restricting to be honest. the system go like this from catback Xflowpipe, 1st set of hotdogs, pipe, 2nd set of hotdogs, more pipe out to rear mufflers with the twin chrome tips either side. my standard system was louder with rear only rear mufflers removed, nd it only had 1 set of hotdogs plus a muffler before the dogs. the thing is it looks like it would be this fat as loud system!!!!!! but its a big quite elephant!!!! Yeah the hurricane site is no help at the moment!!!!!

That is the reason it is quiet. Cut that bit out and it will be a lot louder.

    Yes, the cross over pipe.

You went for the wrong system to start with. Either change systems, or do what I told you.

Mate, this all sounds a bit strange unless they have significantly changed their systems. I guess that is possible.

My 2 1/2" Hurricane is very loud and sounds fantastic. Gets lots of comments. I do have headers as well but have heard a few Hurricane cat back systems as well.

Also they gave me great advice and service when i had mine fitted about 2 years ago. At the time there were a couple of different loudness options.

Have you contacted them for advice?

The X pipe combines the exhaust pulses, as each pulse crosses over, the sound also continues down it's original side, so in effect you have 8 cylinders firing down each pipe instead of 4. This makes it quieter as the pulses are closer together.

No I don't. The left and right sides are completely separate.
