hey there guys,
i just put 20x9 inch rims on my 2006 vz ute, but for some reason the antilock on the brakes engage really easily and leaves me without brakes, ive taken the rims off now but dose anyone know why they would be doing it? i had one guy tell me its because the rims are too wide and somehow grab the brakes? i cant understand how that would happen, but if anyone know your feedback would be great thanks !!
Did you get decent tyres put on the wheels, or just cheap crap stuff?
Also generally bigger wheels like 20"s (generally speaking) have less grip because the tyres are too rigid.

normally these are faults to;
- the large wheel is heavy and has a greater rolling resistance and therefore takes more effort from the brake to stop
- if the wheel is a solid design think VT International's etc the brakes dont breathe and they get hot quickly and can't cool down, therefore they dont work well
Yes the tyre sidewalls have less give in them and are more rigid but I havn't seem this as a problem. Are the tyre's 245/35R20's????
Is the rolling diameter larger than the original wheels ? If i remember my physics correctly - That would require more braking force from the callipers to pull the car up. If you want bigger wheels you need bigger rotors as well or they just look TOOLISH ( not to mention don't stop properly ) !!

I noticed this when I put 18s on my old VS. First time I put the brakes on I felt like I wasn't going to stop. You will get used to it.
