Default Hotter air at the feet than the face

    Hi,

I have an MY10 SV6 SportWagon and have found the air blowing at the feet is always hotter than at the face. It's been like that since I bought the car at 18 months old.

This is regardless of whether the aircon is on or not.

It's not so noticable with the temperature dial turned all the way to cool. It's more obvious when the heat is on.

Just wondering if it is setup like this by design.

I'm finding it a bit hard to adjust to a constant temperature.

    Thanks.

P.S. Also wanted to say a thanks to all the posters. Finding this website allowed me to fix the roof lining on my VS Berlina, and also fix the aircon ( which saved me around $1000 dollars, mostly labour )

Very strange, I too have noticed this almost immediately after the last software update I had done on the climate control system in my car. If you turn the temp up slightly it still feels cold on your face but the rest of you begins to feel warmer (unless doing a short trip). The reason for this I think is because having warm air blowing in your face has a tendency to cause fatigue.
The way around it is to turn your temp up to 'H' and turn the fan speed right down, this will give warm air through upper and lower vents. Once warmed up then set the temp back to the temp you desire.

    Try a vent door relearn.

With the IGN on, push and hold the demister button till you hear the actuators start moving. They are fairly quiet so do it with doors and windows closed and radio off.

Could also be heat transferring through the floor from the exhaust making your feet feel hotter.

I had tried this already as I suspected something similar. However if you put your hand over the foot vents you can feel warm air coming out and put your hand over the face vents you get slightly chilled air.

It definitely is a feature. I've read it in the manual ....just to confirm.

Thanks for the reply guys. I just read it in the manual myself.

They recommend u use the face only if you want to be coolest.

A bit of a silly feature in my opinion in that you can never adjust the temperature to a particular setting if there are two different temperatures being blown out.

Do you think it can be reporgrammed via the cars computer ?
