    Default LS3 intake

Was just curious if the LS3 intake off the HSV E3 is the same as the standard SS intake with the big baffle in it or is it more of a air flow friendly curved pipe from the airbox, much like the yella terra intake pipe (or similar brands).

i want to keep the stock airbox setup but get better airflow to the throttle body

    cheers

as far as im aware the LS3 has the same intake, and even the same manifold as the L98, i just had a quick look at the HSV site and even the pics of the GTS had the same intake pipe, which was strange because i thought the GTS had a different intake like previous models such as the VX GTS which had a smoother intake without the MAF, but maybe HSV site just re-used pics im not sure

That's what I was thinking. I was sure the hsv intake had a much smoother pipe. Must have changed it cause it's cheaper than designing another one

I know what you mean. I easily see as many GTS's rolling round as I do normal ss's. The clubsport has basically been made redundant, what's even the point of having it anymore?

I was in the same mind set as you when i had the ssv, but i now own an E3 R8 & i can definatly say they are 2 completely different cars so to speak. Brakes are so much better, the LS3 is way more responsive & torquey, interior is alot better(R8 seats look the same as ss/v but definatly alot more bolstered & comfy) etc...re the manifold, from what i understand its slightly bigger & free flowing on the LS3 & the throttle body is slightly larger also.

Your missing my point I was comparing the clubsport with the GTS, not the SS. Unless I'm missing something it's just the interior that's pretty much different right?

my 2009 clubby is build number 14XX there not rare at all.

And I was either going to get a new thunder or an SS with arounf 20,000km's when I reled for an extra 7 grand I could get massive brakes, small bucket seats (GTS seat are very different) and it came factory on the wheels I wanted with 20,000km oh and a HSV badge to wank over lol

Dad's MY12 GTS is build 1300 so there are alot less made but compared to the VP range of HSV there not rare at all. I dare say there more VE clubby's out there then VP SS and I see them everywhere.....

oh and the GTS has MRC suspension set up which im told is amazing compared to his SSV

If you were to have an ultra rare car, what happens when it breaks down and you need parts?
You gonna have to sell a kidney just to get it fixed.

You ever been in a VS clubsport. It's pretty much badges and a bodykit.

+1 my ve parked next to my mates vs. Is eerily similar shape (obviously). They're both an overweight commodore but I love it anyway :-)

Try eBay btw the do sell a 4" intake pipe to suit the standard airbox.

Id rather be in a ve than a vs in the unlikely event of a serious crash.

They seem to have the same intake pipe but something like the VCM unit would help you
