went out to my car this afternoon.. its totally dead. and i mean nothing. i had to use key manually to open it.. these no sign of power anywhere at all... car runs with no problems the day before went out for a drive for most of the day. battery is fine holden put a new one in 8 months ago. but its got me totally stuffed on why this afternoon no power at all to nothing. no horn no lights no dash nothing. i know its 35c here and car was in sun for . but this should affect the electrical side of it. felt like over a 100c in the car.. but has anyone had same problem on a hot day or just no power. at all...
many thanks in advance to all...
update was the battery. R.A.C.V CHECKED IT. told me even though its new. it can be faulty. also he said being in the boot and a really hot day those boots heat up super fast. and can drain the hell out of a battery. i remember in my last holden when the pack of coke cola burst in boot... had wall to wall coke what a mess. 36 cans all went up. so got a new battery in it now. didnt cost me. advised me to get holden to give u a refund. R.A.C.V gave me a report to give to holden. also advised me on super hot days leave the pass through to boot open. and a window a little. at least then the boot doesnt come up critical temps.
otherwise thanks for the advice below. also checked on engineer mode when its going its charging fine.

have you actually checked the battery just because it's newish doesn't mean it hasn't died...its obviosly power related as in it's not just the immobilizer etc...a hot day shouldn't have those problems something else has happened

also.....disconnect the battery and let it reset and connect it again (worth a try) hopefully nothing bad like the body control module shit itself

Grab a multi-meter and check the battery's voltage, you may find that the alternator has dropped a diode or blown out the rectifier, when they do this they go open circuit and drain the battery completely flat in around 6~12 hours.
Good Luck with it, I have had a blown rectifier on my second car since 23/12/2011, just waiting for Auto Elec to come back to work in early January to get it back on the road![]()
Take it back to holden as the battery will have at least 12 months warranty.
There's several causes for batteries going flat in VEs and they should be able to identify which issue it is and rectify it.
