Autos with AFM are L76 and manuals are L98. Although I read somewhere on here that the L76 is no longer used?

If autos are with the L76 why does the plate in my engine bay say L98 and is a auto not manual??

He said autos with AFM are L76 (usually found on 09 onward ve v8's IIRC). L98 were used on older models without afm (ie your 06 VE SS).

L77 are used on both auto and manual Series2 ve. They are both afm engines but not enabled on manual.

Correct. VZ auto and manuals were L76, except on utes. Although it has been found on some utes that even though the plate says L98, they actually have L76's.

So would i be correct in saying that the only difference between the L98 and the others is the it doesnt have that AFM crap?
