I think if you did that here the cops would pull you over for looking like you were using your mobile, maybe a voice recognition system would be the trick

The end result will look something like this:

It will not require scrolling through commands. It is still in the early stages.

Nice work on the conversion. Good to see something a bit different happening.

BUT, I reckon the standard SSV console looks better. Cleaner layout and you can buy them now too. Just my 2c.

72 degrees??? Wow, it pumps some heat!!!!!

Voice recognition would be a real bonus. Otherwise, can an iPod be mounted into the magic box between the seats?

For a Caprice, this could replace the overhead control and DVD remote.

So you have to sit there with your phone or ipod in your hand to control everything? Why not just go touchscreen?

    Am I missing something?

If you've been following Nate, you'd know that this ultimately is leading o a complete iPad replacement of the hvac and audio control/setup. Been watching and waiting patiently for this to be completed.

yeah mate haha you are :P what hes trying to achieve is to have an ipad or ipod or watever IOS device have a screen with buttons like on the touchscreen HVAC module that is available now so its basicaly going to be that and you can do wat ever u want

I'm lost too - so, when it is finished what do you use to operate Nav HVAC? Does thf old screen come out and the new one go in? Or does the iPad get installed? And then stolen? If it has yo be operated with handheld device then is pointless

Seems a waste of time and better to install touch screen

lol XD .. im guessing hes developing a module that is like the touchscreen version but only has wifi instead of touch screen , and that hes writing an APP that can control ith through wifi so for example if u want abit of that extra ipod/ipad fun in your fascia you can have it ....
in the end its just another solution to holdens cluster#### of a job with the audio set up
