Default Unexplained problem - DRL Lights

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone could help, I recently fitted DRL stripping to my headlights, easiest thing to do was attach straight to the park lights, which i done succesfully, they work fine, the rest of the car though, not so much. My engine temp gauge not working at all, my aircon not blowing out cold air, engine light coming on and also saying to take the car to a dealer!!!!??? It is booked in to assess damadge done, I tried figuring it out but as far as I can tell there are no loose wires or blown fuses? Any idea?

    Thanks

Had this the other week when I put in my HIDs...I didn't have this problem with my VX, but the VE's computer would be more advanced...

TO FIX: 1. Get in the boot and disconnect your battery. You'll need to leave it for ten minutes or so, then re-connect. (Make sure you can leave your boot open while the battery is disconnected, because your lock/unlock fob won't work without power to the vehicle).
    2. Start your car. Ideally, the System check should run and everything will be okay again. If not, find a younger sibling or someone else smaller than you to abuse, then take it to an auto electrician (I tend to avoid dealerships, but that's just me I guess).

WHY THIS HAPPENED: I'm not qualified to say for sure, but I was told that, in my case, the differing power usage between HID Xenon and regular bulbs made the CPU in my Calais think that I'd blown a fuse or something - Holden's solution to pretty much anything is "don't try and fix it yourself when you can pay someone to do that for you". In your case, you didn't mention anything about lights, so perhaps it's just the glitch I've heard other people speak of. Just on that - I can't take credit for this solution, someone else on this forum put it up, but I'm not sure where or I would give them credit. It did work in my case though, so have a go.
Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're NOT after you...
