Default Utes - Who do you insure through and how much?

I'm currently with NRMA and the renewal is here and they want $1134 or $106 a month.

The buzz insurance have online quoted me $830 annually!

when i had my 08sv6 ute, with allianz it was from memory $734 including tool insurance, and with my wagon it $620 with windscreen option, utes are higher as the insurance mobs class them being on the road more often.

I am through Shannon's mate, looking at about $940 a year. But i am an old bugger as well Lol.

    2010 SS.

They are good with any mods done to your car as well, providing they are within acceptable limits.

    Cheers mate.

thats a huge difference mate... you sure NRMA quoted "agreed value" and not "market value"?
I'm with AAMI... and whilst I hate having to generate new quotes every year online because their 'auto renewal' prices are a joke, I find they are far cheaper than the rest on a regular basis.

2008 ssv ute, cam, lowered, Otr, tune, etc all listed on policy, agreed value of 47k, $1200 with aami. I'm 34. Shannon's wanted $1600 and would only insure for market value

I just did a quick run through Real Insurance online quote. I didn't know much about your Ute, so I based info on my sedan, but changed it to a ute. They quoted $44.21 a month(online special), which equates to $530.52 annually.

Mate Im with just car, turned 25 last year and the rates dropped considerably, down to $960. Thats pretty good for a late model V8 considering I was paying $1300 the year before for my VX Calais L67...

I agree mate. I was very wary of just car before, but after me and my brother both being with them for over a year, I have to say they are pretty good.

Agreed with AAMI auto renewal price are so stupid...last year they tried to charge me more and insure it for less - go figure!!

Shannons are more pricey than people think...sure they insure your mods but you pay more for it in the end.

Are you saying that you'd insure your car with an insurer that doesn't insure your mods to pay less?

I'm sure if that were the case it'd be an interesting experience for you if you had to claim against that policy?

Just car is AAMI, and theyre cheaper, I dont see what anyone has against them?? Theyre gunna put up less of a fight for a modified cars claim than a company who seems "more reputable" but doesnt cover modifications....
