So it's come time to renew my registration and pay for CTP on my VE series 2 ute...and I'm in shock as to how much of a price hike it is over my old car.
My old car was a golf VR6, a rare and expensive car to maintain and run..and insurance companies knew that. Total was about $1000 each year.
This ute, considering it has better economy, is brand new and is made in Austraila, is going to be $1600.
Is there something wrong there? I've NEVER heard of rego costs this high.
Cheers,
Mickey
Yea mate if you live in NSW CTP has just one up 17% recently heard it on the radio a few weeks ago... Best thing to do would be shop around, if u in QLD then there cheaper than NSW not sure about VIC.. It's insane how much it's all gone up.. I'm not sure what mine is yet I got a new SS so it's not up for rego untill August this year.
age, driving record, location, is ute registed for busines or private use ,rego charge is on based on the weight Registration fees
also dd u use the greenslip calculator Green Slips Cost Comparison - Cheap Green Slips - Green Slip Calculator - greenslips.com.au
Rego is always higher for a ute it's doesn't matter if it's private use or business as its classed as commercial
The Mad Dutchman
SSV Ute through AAMI $289.50. Paid it straight away against they f*cked up.
$289? That's a gift !!! It has to be wrong, hope you paid it instantly lol
Yeah cheapest ctp I've heard of. Paid it as soon as I opened the renewal
I wonder if it's worth ringing my own insurance company to push for a discount on CTP considering my comprehensive is up for renewal in a few month's time...
Cheers,
Mickey
unlikely bud... CTP between the different insurers is pretty close. still worth while to shop around, but it's only a few dollars difference... and will probably make more of a difference based on who your comprehensive insurance is with (because they tend to offer a little bit of a discount if you already hold some sort of insurance with them).
