Default Upgrading 2011 Series II front fascia

    Hey all

I have a 2011 Phantom Black SV6 Thunder Ute, i have upgraded the front fascia to the MY12 fascia.
The differences being the chrome mouldings around the top and lower grills and both fog lamps. Depending on what model 2012 Commodore you purchase will depend on how much chrome is standard.

I have the SSV chrome attached to my ute.

It is an easy upgrade to do, just gives it a bit more class with the 2012 look.

I would post some pics but it won't let me as the uploader keeps failing.

Around $500 total, you will have to purchase the chrome surround for both grill and fog lamps as well as the grills and fog lamp covers themselves.
The chrome does not just slip place behind the existing grills, it sits behind the new grills you will have to purchase.

It helps to know someone in parts, like me lol

I have just got my Lion Badge painted Phantom Black on the front grill, just to take a bit off the chrome.
Looks a lot better, i will post pics asap!

Also if anyone needs some 2011/12 grills i have a spare set, these will not fit the chrome as they are my old ones, but in perfect condition!

You will have to remove to Grill itself, then takes some pressure to pop out the Badge.

To remove grill, undo the two bolts under the hood and pop out the two retaining clips, angle the grill towards you and push the side locating clips on the grill from the front bar, comes off easy!

I have a sv6 my12 ute, i have the grill and such with chrome, but i thought the upgrading the front cost to much just for some little bits of chrome. I was looking on ebay and found this

2Mx Chrome Styling Moulding Decoration Trim Strip Car Interior Grill Window Body | eBay

could do pretty much the same thing and cheap to so im going to check it out and see if it looks any good.

Should do the trick, don't know how well it will stick around the tight curves. Make sure you post a pic

I think your car looks nice, but chrome for me is for old classic cars, not new plastic cars.

I have dechromed my car all except the chrome trim above the numberplate. I might go flat black for it like I did for the lion on the grill

i have been think about that to, maybe carbon fibre the chrome strip on the rear of the wagon just wondering if it can be done while still on the car as i dont want to start breaking clips.

I've already got a 2012 ve sv6 but I want the chrome garnishes around the fog lights.. Which ones would I need? Just the covers?

You will need to purchase the whole set for the fog lights.

    9225 4260, 9225 4259, 9225 4257, 9225 4258

As the chrome fits behind the cover, the cover is smaller than the one already fitted to your car.
