Hey guys
Last week I had my stereo done. Got all new speakers, a 5 chan amp and sub installed by a reputable company. The system works great and love it. edit was working well...
However, after I got my car back I found a problem. When I go to lock my car with the remote all passenger doors lock but the drivers door does not. Can only lock it when I insert key into door lock and lock that way.
Same situation when I unlock. Push unlock on remote and it will unlock all passenger doors and leaves the drivers door locked. I then have to put key in door and unlock it that way.
If I just use key in the door lock all doors will lock and unlock. Its only when I use the remote that the drivers door will not lock or unlock.
Also when using the lock, unlock buttons on centre console all passenger doors lock/unlock but not drivers. Same deal with auto lock at speed and unlock when gear stick is moved into Park.
Took it back today and they spent 2 hours on it checking it. They said that all the connections and wiring seem fine and that the motor that drives the lock won't start. They believe that has seized and is causing the problem.
They have rang up Holden and booked it in to get looked at.
Just thought I would see if anyone else has had a similar problem?

Sounds like they've bumped the wires to the door lock somewhere . Especially when they've just fitted the stereo
got a multimeter?
see if power is going to door actuator when you press remote key.
seriously doubt motor has seized.
you said you got new speakers. did you get new wires with that?
I reckon they've damaged the wires coming into the door.
multimeter will tell you straight away if its wires or door motor. i reckon its wires.
Haven't got a multimeter and I dont really wanna pull my door apart either.
Anyway its back at the shop today because I got a new problem after I picked it up yesterday. Whenever I turn the volume over 15 it just cuts out and I have silence.
This is getting really annoying.
If they havent done the stereo install properly, i wouldnt trust that this is a seperate, coincidental incident that the door lock has stopped working on its own.

Its because the cable was put into the 'clip' type thing in your door for the handle, but it needs to be pressed down into a plastic/rubber groove. If they didn't do this your door lock may move a little when u lock it from inside but not do anything.
I had the same issue, just take the door off and check its all connected properly.
From memory the screw are along the bottom, one below the arm rest (deep in the door) and one under the cap on the handle.
Yep. That's most likely the problem. I have done it myself too. Just take trim off and check or better still get the stereo place to do it!!!
Car was back at the stereo place all day. Reason for audio cutting out was one of the wires connected to amp had come loose/not connected properly and was causing it to short. Works great now but will wait and see...
Also they fixed my lock. Im not sure what they did but it had something to do with the module/circut board for the lock and I dunno but main thing is its fixed and works like it used to.![]()
Thanks for the help.
Module/Circut board for the lock?............what did the wire the stereo into that??? good to hear all is well now![]()

module circuit board of the flux capacitor.... those damn flux capacitors... always very tricky when it comes to stereo installs.
glad its all working now though.
With The door simular thing hapend to me with the passenger side door only though, wouldnt open with the central lock.
The problem Was The cable that is conected to the iterior door handle wasnt attached properly, the cable has a mounting clip to keep it secure it came loose from there so ass you pull the handle to open the door. The cable is loose and just pulls with the handle rather then unlocking your car.
The Mounting point is located on the inside of the door, Close to Where the out door handle is.
hope that helps.
