Hey guys,
Just wondering how I go about getting my Galaxy II to go through my car speakers. When I dial a number from the handset, it says its connected to th headset, but the radio doesn't mute nor does any sound come out of either phone or speaker. Thoughts?
Sent from my Galaxy SII.
On Holden IQ have you gone into Config -> Bluetooth -> Pair New Devices and can you see your phone/bluetooth name?
You'll have to connect via your Cars BT to your phone as well as vice versa. It'll ask you for a pin to enter when first connecting
do Luminas have bluetooth..???
Smitty...with the VE SSv SII Sportswagon, VK race car and...Kwaka ZX12R
Sorry mate im at a loss,
I paired my SII with the stato easliy, once from the phone ad once from the car
I have the 2011 sv6 and all i did was put my bluetooth on on the phone, went into the IQ, went to pair new device, it searched and found my phone, it then told me enter the pin, i did and bang they are paired.
Funny thing is though when they are paired, the Navigation software on the Galaxy S2 will try and output the voice commands through the car, and the car doesn't recognise it, so it just keeps playing the radio...lol.
To use the nav properly you have to turn the phones bluetooth off...

Is your phones visibility on?
It's really weird.
Everything is connected. Although it doesn't say 'Voice In' or anything like the manual says.
When I dial a number, it connects, but there is no sound from the car or from the phone (even though it says 'headset' on the phone options.)
Is where it's saying "headset" a button? Because perhaps if you select that it will transfer the call to the vehicle and then that bit of text may say "handset" to bring the call back.
As above "press handset button to transfer call back to vehicle" that would be my guess
try turning the stereo volume up when it says the call is connected. WHen I first paired mine i didn't tihnk it worked but I found that the volume for phone/bluetooth is independant of the radio/cd volume
Then headset button is already selected. When I deselect it, it goes back to the phone.
When I select it, the phone mutes.
While all this is happening, the radio is still playing...
Isn't the radio supposed to cut out when you dial someone?
it is yes.
When you first get in the car and turn on the ignition after a few seconds you should see/hear the phone connect to the car and the radio will have text saying "Voice In".
If you aren't seeing that then the phone isn't pairing with the car correctly and I'd try the pairing process again.
If you are seeing the message then try making a call from your phone. again you should see a message on the radio.
If you are getting all of this and still can't hear the person at teh other end then turn the volume on the stereo up a bit and balance it to the drivers front speaker.
Good Luck..
Is is possible your old / previous phone is still paired with the stereo and is "hogging" the connection? I know it's a long shot but is your old mobile near by and powered on.
well that certainly sounds like it is paired OK then given the steering controls are activating the phone.
OP, have you tried resetting the phone since you paired it? As in, shut phone down and reboot it. So many bugs like the one you are experiencing can be fixed by resetting the offending equipment...
My only gues from this point is that maybe the BT unit above the glovebox isn't correctly/completely plugged into the Head Unit. The phone sounds like it's paired and the steering wheel button is talking to the BT unit. I'd check the plugs in the BT unit (glovebox removal required...) and check the plugs on the RH side of the Head unit (pulling down on the trim on the right will make them visible - might need a torch to see what you're doing.
BT unit is about 20cm long with one plug if I recal correctly - stuck under the airbag above the glovebox.
There's a few threads with the procedure covered. A few screws basically.
Here's one thread from the search results:
How do I get the glovebox out of my VE?
