Hi Guys,
I Just joined up because I bought a 09 SSV Ute. Now the first thing I need to do is put an exhaust on which thanks to this forum ive learned a lot! I also need some wheels and springs. Can anybody help me out!
Can I fit 20x8.5 on the front and 20x10 on the rear or even 20x10.5 on the rear??? I do wish to lower it, not much, just enough to suit the new wheels.
If I decide to go with 22s, can I fit 22x10 on the rear or even 22x9 all around???
And also what offset would get me to the edge of the guards? would 40+ be ok or 35+?....
Thanks Guys look forward to hearing back from you all![]()
Personally I hate the look of bigger at the rear than the front, it makes it look like a Matchbox car.
20x8.5 front 20x10 rear will look hot. Don't go 22s, they affect performance and don't look as tuff as staggered 20s.
RUBBER BAND WHEEL WOOT WOOT i mean ouch chiro anyone
stroking is fine but id rather be blown
But can you go 22s staggered?
and would 20x10.5 be too large? or could you run something like a 30 offset? or will that stick out too much...
Oh, the "Anti - Big Rim" committee are here...
It wasn't that long ago every was ragging on 20" wheels, now they're being recommended - now 22" rims "are the Devil.." LOLfail...
The way I read it, I think the O/P was asking if the full set of 20"s would fit with a 10" rear rim, or if he decided to go 22"s (all round) would a 10" rear rim fit under there no problems. Not so much the 20" on the front 22" rear combination.
Yeah! so 20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear... or 22x8.5 front and 22x10 rear..... would these fit? has anyone on here done this before? and what offset? I just dont want to spend the money buying cast wheels from a tyre shop made to suit ALL cars with 5x120 with a 45 offsett or something....
I thought you were asking about 20 front and 22 rear. My bad. I should t bag out staggered fitment, after all I have 20x8 front and 20x9.5 rears.
I have 22x10 on the rear and mine is lowered about 40mm and the main issue is having your guards rolled so u don't chew out your tyres
Just read a thread on LS1 forum someone got a defect for rolled guards. Check it out I couldn't be bothered reading the whole thread, (4pages).
+50 offset with rolled guards and they fit.
Wouldnt +50 bring them in too far? Isnt it the higher the number the further in they go? Ive been told I need to roll the guards either way but +35, +40 now +50... I wish I knew how to measure my car...
See this thread:
Roll guards
No official numbers for 20x10 since Holden don't make them.Originally Posted by RiCeY

Thanks Davey,
Its just made it more confusing now though...
People keep saying it depends on what offset you have whether it scrubs or not.. But what is that offset for:what is the offset for VE's? my HSV wheels are 20x8.5 48p front and 20x9.5 56p rear but I swear when I looked at Dad's SSV rim it was 19x8 36p?
1: 20x10 rear and 2: 22x10 rear??? Does anyone know that exact offset lol!
And then would the offset be different for the front wheels?
At this stage im looking at 22x8.5 +40 front and 22x10 +40 rear :S but then im being told +36 rear - +56 rear!! ARGH!!!!!
if your lowering your car and wanting 20x10" wheels on the rear it will scrub if you make it close to the guard, grab a flashligh go to your rear wheels and look under the guard next the the rear bumper you will see a mounting point there for your bumper that point scrubs like a bitch when its lowerd and have peaple in the back in every bump you go on , i know this beacouse thats what hapend to myne, i now have the advanti tourers 20x9.5 with 5x120 ET +45 offest and no scurbbing
HSV wheels are 20x8.5 front 48p and 20x9.5 56p rear
we were talking about this earlier in the week in a thread called "roll guards"
welcome to the forum but learn to use the search option's and read some theards before repeating old topic's
^^ I already referred the OP to that thread earlier.
..But it doesn't help him much, since he's after the correct offset for 10in wide rims on the rear..
Im not really interested in 20x10 im thinking more 22x10??? so that would be 56 offset too?HSV wheels are 20x8.5 front 48p and 20x9.5 56p rear

Im thinking so too but if it is slightly larger then that can cause all sorts of trouble, and it could only be over 2 or 3mm which would suck! Thats why I was thinking of asking you guys and setting up a topic called 22" wheels 22x10 because lots of people on here have explained 20x10s by the looks of it. But now im being told to go 22x10 56 which doesnt seem right...Still can't answer your question sorry, but I don't see why the correct offset would be any different between 20's and 22's.
I mean, the overall rolling diameter would still be the same or nearly the same right?
dude the difference between 9.5 inch's and 10 is about 12mm aka a bee's dick, it does not matter anyway all the guys running 10 inch wheels run the 275 tyre's the same as 9.5 wide rim's :/ some do run 295's tho
245/35R20 tyres are the same size as 245/25R22 tyres (8.5 wide) PERFECT FIT on a 22x8.5 48p wheel and 275/30R20 are the 9.5 tyres and if you bought 275/25R22 (samllest size listed in calculator I found) are 25mm to big in diametre and illegal in most states as legally you can only go 15mm larger.
Go to a tyre shop or ring/email someone like tempe tyre's and get the correct information before you buy anything. PS 25 series tyre will suck ball's on the road
Mine are +40 and they fit fine.
