Default Looking for a new exhaust system for my SS

Hey guys, I know this has been covered a million times but with a few new exhaust systems out there I thought I would have another stab at it. I am going to can my current exhaust on my VE SS and I am looking for a new system including extractors, cats, and a 2.5" exhaust. This system also has to be full stainless. What is the best on the market at the moment? are xforce systems making the same hp figures as some of the other brands? my past experience with xforce is not the greatest. The car is also going to have a cam fitted in the very near future. Any help guys would be very appreciated.

There are a lot of people who love the KPM exhaust systems. However they are rather pricey, but at the same time they guarantee 2.5inch to be drone free.
KPM Auto > Holden > VE I, II and III 6.0,6.2, SS,SSV,HSV > Exhaust Systems

There is also the VCM Exhaust system (which I'll be putting on my SSV and will be running a cam eventually) they are slightly cheaper than the KPM System, but still drone free.
VCM Performance - High Quality Parts, High Performance Results - Performance Clutches, Harrop Parts, Cold Air Box, Motorsport Headers, Maf Meter, Oil Breather, Valve Springs, Performance Camshafts

Also, if your car is an auto you'll want to have the AFM turned off as whatever exhaust system you put on will have some drone when it drops down to 4cylinders.

Mine's a kpm and i recommend it IF you're not putting in a cam. Their systems sound poppy, if that makes sense, on a cammed car, in 2.5" anyway which is the case on mine.
However they are designing new mufflers as we speak to rectify the problem.

What exactly do you mean when you say poppy? As in when you back off the throttle... that crackle/pop etc...?

I think they all crackle and pop on the overrun the only ones I heard that dont are the exhaust fitted with bimodal mufflers could be wrong though...

Go 3" inch Di filippo I got one couldn't be happier and no drone (mines manual)

I was under the impression that the crackle has more to do with the tune, rather than the exhaust itself

Do you have any ground clearance issues with the DiFilippo?
I met a guy a few months ago who has a Difilippo 3inch on his car, tones of trouble with a few different issues.

Can be controlled by the mufflers, it's unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust that produces the popping sound

    Is this it?

Best way to make a VE exhaust pop is remove back mufflers and weld in some tail pipe. Could be a bit offensive to some like over the top but sounds pretty good.

Nah, it's hard to explain, it's more like a flutter than a pop sound actually come to think of it. Seems to be just an issue with the KPM systems with a cam.

No problem so far... the lowest part of the exhaust which is the mounting point near the rear muffler is 130mm from ground which is the same height as my front bar which are pretty low on clubby.

Do we get replacement mufflers? Or do I just keep telling everyone my car sounds shit because it's a KPM exhaust?

I have a KPM 2.5" full system and a small cam. I think it sounds great and the quality is brilliant. Worth the money.

David from KPM said the 'pops' can be tuned out or left in at the owner's preference with no difference to the final performance figures.

Go the latter, getting anything replaced without parting with your hard earned would be a miracle

Is you cam fitted from KPM?
Apparently it's only everyone elses cams that they're having complaints about

It's not just popping. When I first got the car back it sounded like metallic rattles in the rear mufflers. Then my tuner tried to tune it out and pretty much did but now it makes a fluttering noise, like there's a sheet of paper in each muffler fluttering in the wind.

KPM confirmed their mufflers have an issue with certain cams.

Yes, mine is a KPM cam.

All my mods (KPM Full 2.5" exhaust, KPM OTR, KPM cam, custom tune, performance lifters, valve springs etc) were also fitted by KPM in Adelaide. IMO it was better to save up and do it all at once at one place with components that were tested to work together in order to minimise problems.

I can do 1 7/8" Hurricane extractors, high flow metal cats and a twin 2 1/2" Manta stainless system with front hotdogs and quad tip rear mufflers. Sounds good and goes really well with no drone.

$3150 shipped for it all, and it bolts up with no cutting or welding.

just look at videos on youtube, find the best ones you like and buy that. we mostly sell xforce at work, never had a complaint from a customer and must say never ever had a complaint.

it comes down to personal preference.

performance wise, doesn't matter what system you go with they're all going to be very similar. 2.5" stainless steal xforce system on supercharged ve making 450rwkw, no problems.

that video the final tune before delivering to customer

also anyone who wants one of these $89,900 brand new full driveline warranty 535fwkw hsv killer

    EDIT:

my personal car with 2.5" xforce extractors and full exhaust
