If its thrown a belt theres a new bracket they fit with the new belt to prevent it coming off again. They may also recommend doing the harmonic balancer as they are usually part of the cause if they have a lot of runout.

Not good is it ,had mine come off on the way home from Bathurst and got hot real fast inside. Good to hear it was just the belt.

It's best to fix the cause of the problem than to try and work around it.

Mine threw the belt every time I booted the car hard... Got a new one and it was off within an hour... Got the revised bracket and belt and it hasn't come off since.

Anyone had problems with spitting off air-con belts on 6.0Ltr motors?

why i ask is i have never had it come off before, always turn ac off when going hard. but i took the car to have new tyres put on and it came back with the ac not working (at least i think it did) so i wonder if the guys at tyre power took it for a fang.

I have been meaning to change the bracket on mine for quite some time.
Mine came off once a couple of months ago, and hasn't come off since....
    (Original belt and bracket)....

But every car and situation is different.
    Mine has done around 113000Kms

At least you now know what to look for if it happens again.
Best bet is to pop in to Holden, and grab a new belt / bracket whenever it is convenient, and then look at changing it either,
    1) When it happens again, or
    2) In the winter time Lol....

Possibly as the belt only tends to come off at high rpm.
