Default ve key pad not working

hey guys, my daughter decided she didnt like the way my son was looking at my car keys and hid them in her car seat and we couldnt find them so i resorted to my spare set and the key pad for the door looks and boot release would not work but could start the car ok. im not sure if the battery has gone flat or it wasnt programed corectly when i had a new flip key programed. what do you think it could be, just as simple as a flat battery or another problem. if battery is it easy to replace.

Did they have your spare key when they programmed the new key?

Providing they have changed a Holden key setup I'll have to pay 150 just for one for my vr because the remote case is sealed

The batteries are changeable in VE keys and lol at 20 year battery life HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA

Heath I doubt you have a clue as every 45,000kms a new remote battery is part of the service.

Yet you cant change the battery in a key and believe in fantasy batteries that last for 20 years?

This might be a bit off topic but what happens to the battery in my spare key I am assumming it will still go flat overtime eventough it doesn't get any use?

Also is there any chance of the batt leaking and stuffing up your key?

Well the least amount of presses for a car remote is 4 times a day also the battery is a 12v battery where as a tv remote is only 3 volt and how many times a day does that get pressed and as far as not being able to change a battery blame Holden for soldering it to the remote

Depends on the battery if it's a flat round one they are pretty well sealed unroll contact with water and the little one that looks like a short aaa battery can corrode if it sits and never gets used I switch out my keys every 6 months so they aren't just sitting around

Mine would be lucky to be pressed twice a fortnight....

I did change the battery in mine as per holdens recommendations at the service. If Holden have reprogrammed your keys then they should be able to check the program on it matches

Batteries will eventually go flat over time even if not used. They shouldnt leak no.

Cant compare a car remote to a tv remote. A car remote signal has to be much stronger to travel further distances and pass through the exterior of the car. Secondly the VE batteries are 3 volt and most tv remotes have 2 x 1.5 volt batteries.
