hey, i just bought a VE Omega 2007 commodore, and the transmission is doing some weird things, and i just want to know if i should be worried.
When the car is in park, and its either on a steep hill or a slight hill, or even sometimes on a flat surface, When removing from park, its sometimes a struggle, and on hills it makes a loud bang when i eventually get it out of park after having to push hard to get it out of park.
When moving the car from gear to gear aswell, it often makes a noise when going into gear that i havnet heard in any of my previous cars, and the car is really jumpy moving from Nuetral, to reverse and from nuetral, to drive.
And sometimes when the car is either cold or even when its warm, when im driving the car, It tends to jump into gears. it doesnt feel like the gearbox is slipping but ?
Am i just being paranoid or should i take it back to the dealer.
Probably best to get it checked out mate, mine never makes loud noises or hard to get out of park unless it is on an extreme angle in witch case there is a little resistance and the car will fall back a little once it gets out of park. But nothing to unsettling.
Check out my VE Commodore My Omega Mods
Check that your handbrake is working when pulled too..
What month was the car manufactured in?

There is one thing you could do to alleviate the issue of it making a banging noise when coming out of park. When you are going to park your car, stop it, put it in neutral, pull on the handbrake and ensure the car comes to a full stop (ie make sure the handbrake is now holding the car especially if it is on a slight incline/decline) and once there is no more movement in the car put it into park.
If you put it into park first and then apply the hand brake quite often the car will roll just a bit (ie a few centimetres) and then the park mechanism in the transmission is holding the car and not so much the handbrake.
It was manufactured in june 07.
And it doesnt make to much of a noise when i pull the handbrake up in nuetral, but i can still hear it when i do that aswell, its like a thud noise and its still really jumpy?
I guess ill just take it back to the dealer.
The clunking when changing sounds like it's low on oil or your diff gears have incorrect backlash
