Default Another wannabe changing up an Omega

My Mrs bought an Omega from the Auctions cheap enough that it warrants a few minor changes. We have the engine light problem coming up but im not worried about that. Drives fine and mechanic said its all good. But I was givin some used coils off a HSV e series. Now if i buy some second hand 18'' wheels and use these coils do you think it could work? I got no idea about the coils off the HSV and dont even know if they would fit. But anyway everyone would wanna give something for free a go right? The car has done 96oookm and I would like to take the the tail wag out of the car so im not expecting the coils to fix that and im assuming the GT monroe rear shocks would take out the body roll in the rear end. And while im at it has anyone tried fitting a fibreglass clubsport kit? There is one on ebay for $730

The E Series have a completely different suspension setup....magnetic ride control or something. Basically it adjusts the suspension on the fly, so I would have no idea what spring rate they would be using. They may 'fit' an omega, but whether they would be legal or work as they should is another thing entirely.

If they are just hsv springs go nuts they'll fit. As for magnetic ride control that only came on the gts .

MRC was also on the Senator and Grange models aswell

Also MRC will still function without the wiring loom, you will just not be able to use the stiffer setting.

Sorry missed that bit I was only saying clubsport and gts. Didn't even think about the other two.

dont bother with a kit for it mate, the fibreglass will look poor in comparison to the legit (in the way of how it sits to the boot, bonnet and doors etc) as for the springs have a try, at worst you will waste a few hours putting them in and taking them out

Springs should fit but wont sit as low as you dont have the weight of the V8 up front.

Engine light comes on for a reason would be worth getting checked out. Could be running lean for example which isnt healthy.

Thanks fellas, been awhile since I have been on the forum. Takin up motorbike riding since the ss days. I'm glad the bike doesn't go through as many issues as the cars at least :-) Although it is interesting playing with the car, Holden's always bring a smile to my face when they work well and look good. With the springs I wasn't worried about the car sitting to low either as I prefer not to slow down to 2km over driveways and speed jumps cats etc
