I have a VE SII SV6 which only has the single display between the speedo and tacho. The options in there are pretty pointless if you ask me. I would never use the "distance to go" function, and there seems to be no way to skip it. I do like to know my average fuel usage, but average speed?
Does someone know of anyone or anyway to hack the embedded system to get it to simply display the data that I want it to display? I could have everything I wanted within 4-5 lines anyway, why can't I have it just on one screen?
I know it would be unendorsed, and probably void half a dozen warranty points, I'm just surprised the info it displays is all over the shop. And in todays "technology state" this should have things should be relatively user configurable above and beyond the choices we do have.Code:Cruise ON/ACTIVE <-- doesn't appear if it's not on at all 100 km/h <-- double height for digital speed (which really doesnt need to be anywhere, but whatever) 0000010 km <-- odometer 000.0 km <-- trip meter MX 10.0 L/100k <-- Gear mode and number, average or instantaneous fuel consumption
Oh, I'd probably add "range to go" to the above, put it at the end of the trip meter, or where ever.
