Hi there
If any one out there has this intake on there sv6 can u please let me know how you found it. And was it easy enough to install.
Cheers
Took 30 mins to install.
Hardest part was getting the rubber pipe around the tb. Other than that it's straight bolt in.
I'd suggest getting a vcm infill panel (I got the one that was labelled for v8s but it fits) as there wasn't one for the v6.
This will fill the hole where the old intake sat.
It says I'll need a tune On the website. Have u guys had your car tuned after installing the product? How much was the tune. R u guys in Sydney?
Vcm is a brand as far as I know.
Search it on eBay, it's just a plastic in-fill panel to stop dust coming through the hole where the old air box was, and makes the bay look better, otherwise there is a big hole in the side.
You have a sv6 yeah? I didn't get a tune, and mine is fine, I think it would mean I u have a v8 or want the most potential out of it you will need a tune.
Oh I get what u mean now. Thanks I'll look it up. Yea I've got an sv6. Did it make a noticeable difference putting the OTR on
VCM make performance parts (mainly for the V8s but some things suit the V6s too) ranging from exhausts, CAI, Cams, fuel system upgrades and a whole lot of other stuff.
VCM also provide a tuning program.
In regards to the Orssome OTR for you car, it is very simple to install, and it will need a tune.
Mace Engineering (forum sponsor) can tune your car for a very good price.
Jarp has the Orssome OTR on his car and is very happy.
The part Calais06 is talking about is this,
VE Infill Panel - VCM Performance Online Store
It's a simple bit of plastic that makes your engine bay look 100times better after you removed the standard air box (as all you will see is the plastic lining of the wheel arch)
Thanks for all that. Are MACE engineering in Sydney? Im keen to get one installed and get a tune done. How many extra KWs will I get from this
Mace Engineering is based in Victoria, however they sell parts Australia wide and recently America too (for the V6 Camaro)
Here are 6 pages of info from people who have had the MACE Tune,
Mace VE V6 Tune Review
I've got the mace tune on my car, and the difference that it made was amazing, for the price, you really won't be disappointed! As for power increase, really all depends on what's been done to the car.
I'm not driving to Victoria just to Get a tune though. Do you know any one good in Sydney?
Thanks for all your help.
Lol sorry just saw that they send it out to you, thats crazy awesome! I'll get onto that as soon as I get the otr intake. I've emailed the guys about getting one so should have the car all tuned up and Ready to go next month.
Thanks for your help bud!
Anybody have a problem with the orssom otr getting water in it and being sucked into engine? I have a Pontiac gxp front end on my car so the grill is alot more open, luckily the bonnet vents are for show, but still whenever I wash it there's drops of water around the otr.
Anyone have this issue with standard sv6 front end? I have just been sticking new rags each time on the otr when I wash it just incase. But they still come out damp.
I don't spray water onto the grill like an idiot, but still somehow manages to get in there. Might have to go to different intake
we have the intakes in stock to suit SIDI and non SIDI engines..
The Orssome OTR is real easy to install.
Installed it on my mates, took about 30-45mins. Very simple & comes with instructions for installation.
