    Default GM LAN connections?

    Hey all,

Just wondering if there are any other GM LAN wires apart from the 3 well known ones in the front dash (behind glovebox, head unit, OBD connection) ?
I wish to know because soon I will be using all of those three and would like to find another.

    Thanks

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but why can't you just splice multiple things into a single Low Speed GMLAN wire?

For more Low Speed GMLAN wires, just search "Low Speed GMLAN" in the following link:

    Document ID: 2033766

There appears to be one Navigation Gateway Module (RHD) which I assume wouldn't be in use without the factory nav unit.

I think only one device can plug in to one wire (i don't really know this is just an assumption), that is some good info in that link cheers.

No worries mate. Oh ok, but say for example you have the factory head unit harness and you splice into the GMLAN wire there, wouldn't there be two devices on the one wire. The HVAC LCD for example and the head unit?

You can definitely hang more than one device off a single GM Lan Single Wire CAN Bus.

I have a couple of devices strung together on my bench at the moment, (Cluster, LCD Radio and BCM), and apart from everything being confused about missing things like the engine, transmission, and heaps of other modules, so far
the stuff is communicating using a single wire.

Your only limited really by the amount of traffic on the line for the number of modules connected to the SW LAN, but considering the high end models have heaps of stuff using this line, I dont think the limit is any real concern.

    Hope this helps..
