hey was just wondering if its worth changing the whole headlight set out?
or to just swap the standard lights out with one of these kits?

if your dropping HID into normal headlights. you going to get heaps of on coming drivers flashing there lights at u.. the glare on non projector lights is high. also you draw the cops seeing the dazzle could pull u over for dropping in hid into normal headlights. havent you noticed the most of the HID are in projector lights as u dont get the dazzle you get the good light on road and not the annoying dazzle. i have SSV lights in my SV6 with HID in low beam and fogs. dont seem to get the dazzle in the fogs as there pointing down to road. so if your dropping HID into your car. drop in the SSV headlights while your doing it.

I have had 6000k HID's in my car for well over 2 years in my SSV. Not one person has every flashed me. I only have them in the low beam. All my other globes are simply led's correctly colour matched and I have a colour matching globe in the Hi-beam.

What low beam HID kit do you have? Brand and supplier. I would like to have LED's replace the yellow parker globes.... You have probably answered this question a thousand times before and sorry to ask again or point me to a thread you've posted this info already

    Cheers

All good mate. I used gadgetmaster(GadgetMaster). Slightly dearer than what you can get on eBay but after reading LS1 reviews I was happy to spend the extra. When I spoke to them I mentioned I wanted the other globes to match and he set me up with everything that matches 99%. Gerald is the man and will sort you out

Bonners you wont get flashed driving in SSV as your car has projector lights. not the normal ones. cars with projectors headlights dont normal get flashed by on coming cars. it when ppl put hid in normal headlights. should understand the glare is terrible to on coming cars. i have never been flashed either as got SSV headlights on my car already.

My point was more about colour. At 6000k, it seems that they are fine. I do know guys using the others that I mentioned and they have been flashed.

i agree with u about the 6000k seems to be a good balance for lights. i have got my fogs done. looks good when there all on. and got 10led T10 globes in parkers. the HID reverse lights are great. because the SSV tailights are clear they really light up when am backing. i added a remote switch. the amount of times i have had ppl with high beam on behind me really pisses me off. i just hit the switch and they soon drop there high beams. i only do it for a second. just to give them the point get those bloody high beams off.

Hey mate, these hid reverse lights your talking about, where did u get them from as I'm interested in upgrading mine. I tried some LEDs but they put out less light.

I like the philips idea. I think the HID's might be overkill (Just my 2c). I have always wanted brighter brake lights if I'm honest. I tried LED and they were dreadful

HIDs in normal reflector headlights are a massively BAD idea. Not to mention completely ILLEGAL and dangerous as they dazzle/blind oncoming drivers.

HIDs in projector headlights are OK but still ILLEGAL without a self levelling system and headlight washer system.

Are they worth it? In projector headlights, yes. I had them in a very nice European car (with a self levelling, cornering and washing system).

In reflector headlights, NO! The Philips Crystal Visions are though. Can't say enough good things about them. They can be as white as HIDs without the intensity so as to not dazzle/blind people.

Phillip crystal vision actually have lower light output then standard because they are blue. Phillip +100 is what you want.
