Default Accessory power after engine stop?

    Hey All,

Just wondering if it is possible to make the accessory 12v power jack (sig lighters) stay on like the radio when the car has been turned off but the door has not been opened? I'm asking because this is what G8s do and i would really like this function in my series 1 Omega, I'm hoping it is just a setting somewhere...

    Cheers

Thanks but the power leading to the stereo is constant, it uses it's GMLAN connection to turn off and on.

Ive had a look at the schematics. The 12v accessory plugs are controlled by Relay R8 Accessory Power Relay. This relay is activated by the BCM.

There is another relay R1 Retained Accessory Power Relay which I presume means it stays live after IGN is off. It controls power windows. It's also controlled by the BCM. Im wondering if you could patch the accessory plug to be controlled by that relay giving you power without IGN. It may only be for a limited time though...

That sounds perfect!!!! RiCey you are a genius! limited time is fine the HVAC unit that it will be powering only really needs a split second after power off. Is this R1 located in the main fuse box? or somewhere else?

Curious to know, why does the LCD HVAC unit need a split second after the ignition has been turned off?

To save some data, BTW it is now all better due to a software update and or a timed relay.

Fair enough. So does that mean if I have a HVAC LCD, that it no longer needs to have a 12v feed that remains on after the ignition is off? So I could just connect it to the centre console cig lighter?

Correct all good now, assuming you update it.
