Hey Guys
I've got an 07 SV6 and have noticed that the sound from my ipod/iphone through the AUX port is softer than when I'm listening to a cd or the radio. I've generally just accepted that it was how it's meant to be, but I haven't heard of anyone else having this trouble. Is this normal or might there be something wrong?
Cheers

Are you using the headphone port on your ipod or the dock connector on the ipod? Volume output from the proper dock plug connector is generally better suited to the aux in of your head unit. If you're using the headphone port, have you tried adjusting the volume on the ipod and turning off any EQ settings?
I'm using the headphone jack at the moment. I have the volume on the device turned up to full and no EQ's on.
I'll have a go using a dock connector and see if I get any better results.
Just tested it with the dock connector attached instead of the headphone jack, and I get the same volume levels![]()

I use the Aux In on my head unit and it depends on song quality, but still I can't get quite as much volume as a CD (quality drops for Aux In too). I've been told it can also be put down to the quality and length of the lead you use between the iPod and Aux Input.. the higher quality and shorter the lead the better the quality. A car stereo shop also recommended a 3.5 lead with the gold ends as opposed to the normal ones. Hope this helps.
If you go through your Head units setting there will probly be AUX volume control. my Sony HU does. also dont turn you Ipod up to full volume, its sounds terrible.
