    Default Dual zone A/C issue

    Hi All,

The passenger side on the aircon is only blowing warm/hot air. It doesn't matter if through dash vents, foot vents etc is just comes out warm in the passenger side only.

And yes, I have checked that it is set to cold :-p

Would this happen if it needed a recharge?

I am thinking that the problem is the dual zone blend door motor module.
This module is used to direct air to the cabin heater core, to heat or cool the air a required.
(It directs more air to the heater from warmer settings, and less air for cooler settings).

It is possible that the motor is stuck, or the module may have issues....

    hope this helps

Not a module, its an actuator. Though the HVAC module which controls everything could be the issue.

Try a vent door actuator relearn. With IGN on, press and hold the rear demist button till you hear the vent actuators start moving. They are fairly quiet so have all doors and windows closed and fan/radio off so you can hear it.

Once they stop try the AC and see if its fixed.

Do you hear any clicking in behind the dash when you IGN on or change modes?

    It's driver/passenger.

I'm not sure what zone the back vents are linked to. Never tested that one

Does the screen on the stereo show DZ or SZ? If it's SZ, whatever the driver's side temperature is set to will come out the passenger side. Just a thought only because I did that once...

Thanks all. Tried relearning and it didn't work.

Even If I put it to single zone and cold the passenger side (face and feet) and rear vents come out warm but drivers side nice and cold...

    Arrggggghhhhh

Failing that take it somewhere to check for codes relating to the HVAC system.

Move the gearstick back away from the facia. Wrap you fingers up under the base of the facia and pull. It can take some force but it will come off, just be carefull not to hit the gearstick with it.

Back is set to face as stated above... and the dual zone does work in the back as well even though the vents are close and doesn't make much difference unless its cranking and you have them pointing away from each other...

turns out its a clip that aids on opening & closing the aircon doors (behind the dash). A fairly common problem they tell me. Have to take the dash out to fix.

He also informed me that i actually have about 4 months left of warranty! so not going to cost anything
