Default VE Series II Carbon Fibre Sports Armour

    Hey guys,

I bought some sports armour for my car about 2 weeks ago. I have a phantom sv6 and the black abs of the sports armour didnt really appeal to me so I went and got it professionally wrapped in 3M Carbon Fibre

Turned out really nice! Not trying to make my car some rice machine or jdm style but i wanted to change it up haha

Havent fitted it yet but ill get some photos up of it soon when I do.

    That should look good.
    Can they be painted?
And have you got a part number?

Carbon on black looks great. Not a fan of the more traditional carbon-look vinyl, but that vinyl in that weave looks fantastic.

What do they use to make the vinyl stick to the back? I thought about doing the silver strips in the interior but can't get them to stick to the back.

Some vinyl sticks better than others. 1080 and di-noc seem to be some of the better ones out there in my very limited experience - but 3M have a primer you can use to help the edges stick. Not sure how readily available it is here though. Should be able to find it online. Don't use it for the whole area though, just joins, edges, etc

Don't use anything but the 3m stuff. More expensive. I covered the strips and centre console in my mates GTS after doing mine and it worked fine

3m carbon fibre look vinyl is good but di noc is a lot more user friendly it is more conformable than the 3m i have wrapped various body panels on different cars and di noc is easier to use also 3m hates cold days it will tear when trying to stretch it , having said that we mostly use the 3m as customers like the wavey look of the lines .

That's what I meant. If someone said 3m carbon fibre to me it would mean di noc.

I've had some problems on the VE mirror covers but generally all is good

bonner thats pretty normal on the mirrors you need to get hold of some 3m vinyl primer mate helps stop them damn ugly spears that come up in the mirrors also make sure you post heat very well cause vinyl is plastic after all helps it to hold its shape they recommend some where around 90 degrees celcius hope this helps in the future mate . oh yeah suppose i should let ya know i do this as part of my job doin vinyl wraps and stuff so i wouldnt give ya shit advice ok always able to help if i can mate .

I've heard of the primer but have always struggled to find an 'everyday' place to get to to get it.

I use the a hair dryer but always struggle where they sit close to the car.

Didn't take it any other way than advice mate. All good.

Yeah I take them off. There is a flat part which sits close to the car when on. That's the bit where I get problems with the vinyl. I can get it working on the rest of the cap.

I've actually learnt quite a lot just by just investing in a couple of metres and playing with it.
