Default Help installing new towbar and hard wiring

I assume you have to prise or cut the caps off? Never done this and don't have any instructions unfortunately. And the next thing is working out how to get the cable back to the main connection. And is that main connection near the battery like the one in the photo

you need to unbolt the reo supports from inside the boot (pic 1) there is also small indents in boot floor just infront of forward most bolt depending on brand of tow bar these need to be drilled out if its a haye man reece 10.5 mm drill bit if i remember right also the threads in the nuts from the oem bolts that you removed need to be drilled out to 11mm if using a haye man reece as well , you should not under any circumstance just hard wire the wirering in a ve you need to get an ecu and a wireing kit either from holden or haye man reece because the trailer lights draw to much current or something like that just know that it wont work other wise . cheers .

Yeh the guy who makes them in sydney installs them but unfortunately I don't live there. However he said don't buy the genuine gm because they are a waste of money... So I'm figuring it could be a scare tactic?! Goodness knows

Yes you need to unbolt the rear bar supports from inside the boot. There are 2x bolts on each side and then they just slide out.
You do not need to drill out the indentations in the boot floor. The Towbar will need to be pushed past these, but they are there to ensure that the bar is a tight fit and will not rattle around.
If you have rear parking sensors then I highly recommend getting the genuine Holden loom, it integrates with the RPA and turns it off when ever you have a trailer plugged in.
If you just get the loom from Holden then you will also get the wiring instrauctions that you need too.

It's a 1250kg I now have it on but the wiring is the next task after lunch. I rang the bloke who makes them and fits them and he said unless you have the sensors then the wiring he gave me is fine.. he connects it to the wires that's in the photo and then runs a lead up to the rear r/h indicator. Anyone know which wires are which, I have included a photo

Hey blasta is this diagram wrong? And do you know what cables colours are in the car. From what I can figure green/white=r/h blinker, yell/blk = l/h blinker, blk=earth, light green = reverse, purple and brown with white stripes = tail lights, light blue=brakes

just use a test light on the car as i cant remember the colors , just turn each blinker on seperatly and check wires from tail light easy to do, your diagrams ok we normally dont connect the black and blue wires unless ask by customer so long as you have left and right blinker ,brake lights , tail lights ,all will be good but you do need a ecu or lights wont work wether holden or after market it will have install instructions , and by the way indents in boot floor dont stop towbar from rattling thats wat the bolts are for tow bar cant rattle if bolts are tight ok .

Yeh cheers, I drilled out the indents and ran the bolts down and secured it. Won't be going anywhere that bar :-) I will be out to buy a test light thingy as it will be handy, dunno about this ecu business plenty of people without sensors say its ok so I'm going with gut instinct. If I hook her up and she works I will let yas all know so that the next Tom dick and Harry will have more of an idea
