After having my stereo upgraded i have noticed a squeaky coming from the front, it seems to be coming from the facia that lies between the dash and windscreen. I was told that during removal it is common for some of the clips to break so i bought the 2 replacement facias left and right hand side, but I didn't buy a new centre section (that contains the daylight/PE cell switch). During fitting I noticed many of the clips had broken on the old ones, I also noticed the centre section sounds like it also squeaks when i tap it, is it common to swap this one also?
Has this happened to anyone else? the noise is annoying as hell ... a high pitched squeak on little bumps.
Shouldn't need to swap the trim pieces, just the white clips that hold them in place. It's horrible hunting for dash squeaks.
Sorted, I removed the centre piece and realised it had 2 missing clips (I replaced them with the spare clips from the old side panels and remounted it). I replaced the outer facia panels on the left and right (most clips where missing on them and alot of the tabs they attached too where snapped off).
I took it for a test drive just then and perfect, no noise ... finally after 2 months
I cant stand those little noises, they just get under my skin.
