How about you fix it, then you won't have to climb thru the window.

I would start by disconnecting the battery, and removing the door trim.

His problem is he can't open the door, hence can't remove the trim.

Use an angle grinder to get to the mechanism, open door, repair mechanism, drive to panel/paint shop, repair door. DONE!

wondering if you removed the two screws that are accessible with the door closed (inside lever, under the arm rest from memory), could you still unclip the trim from the top, at least partially, and maybe get an arm in? But then there's the plastic sheeting...

just thinking out loud. Not sure if the top clips are dependent on the rest of the screws being removed first.

You can pull the top outwards unclipping it from the trim that runs along the base of the window.

How far Im not sure, never had to do it.

That's what I was thinking - with the middle screws gone, there might be enough of a cavity to reach in - probably need to rip through the plastic - and it would be a lucky dip as to whether you could reconnect anything that way, particularly as it would get tighter towards the edges and you'd be able to see exactly FA - maybe worth a shot though before reaching for the grinder?

If you're Mrs has skinny arms.... maybe?

Theres two cables, one for the lock and one for the handle that run along the door from the inside handle.

If theyve become disconnected from the inside handle you should be able to pull that end up then pull the cable to open the door.

Yeah going try again in morning but it is almost impossible to make even the slightest gap, also the cable is still attached to the handle it's just dis lodged out of the panel where it clips in, so basically when u pull the handle it doesn't move the cable enough

Maybe going just break the handle tomorrow and pull the cable through then I can just replace the handle cause I have a spare

It clips in at the handle so you may be able to reach down and clip it back in, or just reef on it to open the door.

yup fixed thanks every body for your help

suprised it doesnt happen more offen as they just can rattle loose the cables, i did change the speakers in the front 3 days ago so its maybe i didnt put it back in tight enough how ever i have taken the door panels off bout 3 times already on each door on this car & this was the first time i had issues with the lock cables, still got to take the panel off in a few days to do some work so might sort silcone them in so make sure it never falls out again until u want it to

thanks (admin/mods can lock or delete) cheers
