Re the last shot - interior - Not familiar with that style of handbrake - is that how it would look in the off or on position?

(If on the off position- lucky it was parked in a parking bay with a kerb!).

its looking better and better to me. it definently has some commodore traits to it. like the mirrors and grill.

Disappointing about the 4 speed auto. Rest is good though...
Perhaps 5 speed auto will be a series 2 addition to base models? I cannot see why Holden would stick with a 4 speed when a 5 speed is by far more in their interests

I admit its very hard to believe they would use a 4 speed when they HAVE a 5 speed auto...which would increase interest and fuel economy. Overall it would be incredibly stupid for Holden to use a 4 speed....why would they??

Why, L 3 4 D doesn't seem logical to me.

It makes sense to have 1 2 3 D.

You are much more likely to want to select and hold first, than 4th.
Also if you are manually changing 1, 2, 3, who cares.

Having a L which means the car can do what it wants with first and second isn't useful. I often when driving around looking at properties put my car into first and just let it idle down hills. It gives a degree of engine braking.

The XT and the Futura are 4 speed autos. And according to the Ford web site cannot be optioned to 6 speed.

pffft who wants a XT or futura though lol...my uncle is a die hard ford man, and got a XT...he actually said its so cruddy he would rather our adventra...off topic, but yeah, i wasnt sure if they still didnt offer it across the whole range...cheers

Because P R N D 4 3 L is how the current 5 speeder with activeselect currently goes.

And the car will upchange in 1st gear so as not to damage the engine

Yeah could be a base model 4 speed wasn't thinking at the time but who would buy that?? apart from government fleets
