Default Fuel Economy Per Tank Of Fuel

    Hey all...
Post whether you have a 6 or an 8 Fuel tank size & how many km's you get per tank of fuel & what octane you run..

    Cheers
    MaT

P.S- Will be posting in all sections to try to get ideas of fuel economies per model.

    Ve Calais V6, 73lt tank
Im only squeezing about 540ks out of a full tank travelling to and from work
(90k zones) and around town......no expressway running. The gauge estimates an average of around 12.4-12.6l per 100k.
Bit disappointing as my VZ SV6 could be squeezed to 600k but.......I did think the VE was going to be better.

    VE SSV V8 6L Manual
    73L fuel tank
Ultimate 98 or Vortex 98 ONLY
getting about 16.5L/100km of mainly city/peak hour driving with some freeway
car has less than 1000km and is still in running in process so thin oil and running really rich
so after 3000km it should drop...plus going to put extractors, high flow cats and catback with a tune so should get EVEN better
better than my HSV VXII R8 Manual which sat at 19L/100km same driving and that had 50,000km

    VE SSV V8 6L Manual
    Ultimate 98
I get about 11.2L/100km driving to the shop and highway use
But if i drive around town I get 13.9l/100km
I seem to get about 450-600kms per tank depending on where i need to go.

When I drove up to the gold coast it was 10.1l/100 but I had 5 people in the car and a full boot.
    Look ma I'm going FAST.....

SV6 Manual, Average about 9-11 around the town. 8-9 on the freeways. Get around 550-620km's per 73L tank.

I hired a VE Calais V6 5speed Last Year drive of my life..
4 Adults in the car and we gave it curry all the time went perfect.. Massive hills flying overtakes fast launches..

Distanced travelled 1203km. Litres used 110.92. Litre per 100km... 9.2l/100km All on standard Unleaded fuel. On the way home From Camperdown to Sunshine we got 8.3/100km..
Would have been better if we didn't use the back road freeways to echuca they got some massive hills to climb.

All my fuel econemy drives were km when picked up to return travelled done on km's on trip fuel used on trip but done on paper to be more accurate.

    Calais V6 Auto
73 litre tank (but can squeeze in nearly 80 litres)
Until now I have only run regular 91RON unleaded as there is ZERO economy benefit to using premium fuels. However, now I don't drive to and from work I'm going to switch to V-Power for cleaner running and better for the engine benefits. No other reason.

Figures are based on 91RON unleaded:
    Around town only 60km - 90km zones: 550km
Highway only 100km - 110km zones: over 1000km (see picture of range)
Combined: anywhere between 600 and 800km

    VE Omega V 3.6 6cyl
    Regular unleaded
    Standard tank size
Just done 452 Kms and low fuel light has come on
    Economy is 14Ltr/100
    Average speed is 30 Km/hour

The average speed has a huge effect on the Lts/100 (the lower the average speed the higher the Ltrs/100)

It would be interesting to know what the average speed was when they got 1100 Kms per tank ?

    Regards
    Neil

    VE Berlina 2010
    3.0 SIDI
Average 11.2/100km over 2,800km with average speed of 41.4km/h
91octane (Climate on 22 for at least half that, mornings mostly)
This was mainly city with a bit of highway driving.

Then 8.3/100km for a short country trip with average speed of 94.6km/h (Tailem Bend to Salisbury for the SA guys playing at home) with climate set to 20 for the most of the trip home, may have crept up to 21-22 by the end.
    Same 91octane used.

    Edit: 5000km on the car

    SSV 6 Speed
Only got 2500km on it but i average about 16.5lt/100km, running Shell 98, and usually need to fill up after about 450k's.
Have got it down to 9.9 cruising with 4 people freeway only cruise on 110.

I get the same figures on my VE SS Man wagon, and use BP ultimate fuel.

17000km on the car so far.

Mate I have a VY II S Pack 5 speed and i get no where near 1359km's and wouldn't think I'd ever be able to achieve those numbers even if i was doing 100% highway driving... What sort of driving was he doing to get that???

    Hi,

I have now had the following Commodores:

    VL 3.0 Manual

    VS II 3.8 Manual

    VY II 3.8 Manual

    VE MY09 SV6 Manual

Over the models, the weight has increased from 1250 to 1725 Kg, or about 38%. Power has increased from 114 KW to 195 KW, or about 71%. Torque has increased from 247 NM to 340, or about 38%. I do not have drag coefficient and frontal area to calculate any changes in aerodynamic drag.

It is an indication of improvemnents that economy has been roughly the same for each model even though weight has increased markedly. My VE is not quite as economical as the VS II and VY II, which were lineball. I averaged about 9.5L/100Km around town in the VS II and VY II, and get about 10.0L/100Km from the VE. On the highway, it was around 7.4-7.8L/100Km for the Ecotech cars and about 7.8-8.2L/100Km for the Alloytech.

With all of them, I have been able to get from QLD to Sydney on one tank routinely, i.e. 850 Km. Around town, I fill up weekly, so do not have a clearly km/tank figure, though I would assume about 600.

At first, I was a little disappointed with the VE 3.6 in comparison to the Ecotech. However, now it has been run in, the difference is chalk and cheese. I much prefer the 3.6.

My 6L SS manual ute has been sitting on around 18.5l/100 according to the dash readout. Put that down to doing a lot of short trips recently and a slightly heavy right foot... Though not as heavy as cheesy's apparently! Seems I need to up the ante!

I run only BP ultimate as it seems to be the cleanest fuel and gives me the smoothest idle and easiest start.

    Hi,

    SSV 6.0l V8, 6sp Man, Sedan.
Highway at 110kmh usually between 9.5 and 10.2l/100km which equates to around 750km out of tank.
City basically depends on ur driving style anywhere from 14l/100 to 20l/100. (I dont think i would have filled up under 450/500km to tank)
Generally use unleaded only - normally switch to premium in summer months.

Christ almighty! In a V6? Are you running on cooper mud tyres with no air in them, up a hill, into a stiff headwind, through semi-dry concrete, towing a caravan full of anvils?

haha nah mate, actualy have removed the spare tyer, and pumped the main tires to 260 kpa

on the freeway she does 6.5L/100 doing a steady 100km/hr also averaging 100km/h. so the car should be fine, and its just me :P I guess its all about howmany stop/starts you do and how fast you accelerate.
