might as well put these up here, theyre on just about every other forum already
TheCarBlogger: Spied: Holden VE Commodore Wagon/ HSV Ute
Holden reinvents the Aussie wagon - drive.com.au
ute looks mad. the wagon, i dunno, looks good, but looks odd at the same time. not a huge fan of the rear end, but like the rest, it will probably grow on me. and a 6ltr ss option!!!! who is gonna donate to the new wagon for haky fund?
The more pics I see of VE utes the more I want my next car to be a VE ute![]()
The wagon rear quarter windows seem smaller, but I love it!
the wagon kinda looks like the 450bhp audi wagon ( cant remember its name ), love the ute though.
We got rep back, yaaay!
That ute looks so tough
That wagon looks sweet!

I got stiff by looking at both. Definitely want one.
yum!!
the wagon is so so, but the ute looks hot! did the ute hit the gutter before the shot?!?!?
Both look great. The HSV stylings are very similar to the old HSV HRT Ute concept
I think the Wagon will generate more interest when it comes out. Wagons aren't big sellers, but if it is a bit sportier and different, people won't think they are so boring.
the ute looks like a turd with wheels, but i like the wagon
I would get the wagon, nice......
The wagon looks nice, but it better be functional, ie a real wagon with a decent rear volume/space. Otherwise it's just another Malvern mummy wagon.
The Ute looks good too, but GMH have just raped the ute concept. They are workhorses first and yippee cars second not the other way around. But they reckon they must have surveyed someone-where, a ute muster?
Thanks for eliminating the crewman concept. At least we know the all singing dancing Holden show on models ended yet another one and my copper mates now miss out on a safe work platform for their divvy vans at least. They seem to spend so much dough and time on models that seem funcional and useful then get rid of them as soon as they appear....

Having asked some senior Engeneering and marketing managers / directors from GMH a few months back, the VE Wagon will be smaller than the VZ. it'll be a little larger in size than a Saab 9-3 or 9-5 Wagon, but obviously be a true commodore inside and out.

looky what i spied in the wheels magazine at work today
despite the crap picture quality, they actually look like a real car, not cgi pics. but i did only have a quick look after work. will have a better look tomorrow on my lunch break

lol ... Or read any of the info in magazines/online following the press releases from Holden :P
Most people won't care that it's not as big. The only down side is they will lose a lot of the fleet market. Although fleets are starting to change to Ford Territories (Emergency Services), Toyota Klugers (Coca Cola Company) and when was the last time you saw a Telstra Commodore?
Marketing the car you younger people will only increase private sales to compensate for losing fleet sales.
I still think they should release a hatch (Torana or SSX style). Still want them to produce limited numbers of Efijy's thoughYUMMY!
The only VE i would own is the Maloo Ute, i reckon the rest of the VE's are fairly ugly, but the maloo ute looks sh!t hot.
had a read of the article today, the pics i linked yesterday were "computer generated" based on the pics at the top of the page. shame, they looked pretty bloody real too.
They're saying 100mm smaller than the VZ wagon if its built on the same base as the sedan.
I don't understand why they wouldn't build it on the ute base though to make it longer. The sacrifice to make it this 'sports wagon' isn't worth it imo as the main reason for it is to combat SUV's but whats the point if its not going to have the interior volume?
Not sure exactly what it's meant to compete with. Captiva was meant to compete with the Territory but it's not making the sales Holden expected. If the Commodore wagon can take any sales away from Territory I think Holden will be VERY happy.
Although I think the market for "family wagons" is so much smaller than it used to be - especially thanks to the Territory (and the like).
I think the VE will be the last Holden Commodore station wagon...
anyone got any decent high res pics of the ute that features in the new VE ute ad , where it transforms from really old model to the current one? Its an awesome ad, saw it whilst the v8 supercars bathurst was on!
