was talking to the fleet management guys at work today and they said there not buying wagons until the ve wagon is released in feburary, and only mentioned the omega, but id imagine theyd still have to have a berlina... atleast?
apparantly they are in production now or starting soon?? can a holden worker confirm this
so to us wagon fans, the wagon will live on........

I dunno why anybody thought there wouldn't be a wagon?
Before the VE sedan was released people in the know were saying the Ute would be released late 07 and the wagon mid 08...Which is showing to be spot on...
Then the sedan is released and all these other people go nah theres not gonna be a wagon or ute presumably just because they had heard nothing/seen nothing... Or is it media such as Wheels and Motor trying to dumb it down so they can make a story and then another story when its released?

I wasn't having a go at you andyman, just at the people that have been saying no wagon no wagon. The February release date is good news if its true however there was no doubt anyway that the wagon IS coming.
I should also clarify the above pics are given to motor by Holden and were NOT meant to be released until next week but they stuffed up and went out to the subscribers early.
The Maloo was also revealed in the mag.

basically Holden know ppl aren't buying "conventional" wagons and are heading for SUV's, so Holden's wanting to tackle a different market - ie the Sportswagon, things like Subaru Liberty/Impreza, those kinda cars, and yeah, the 300C as well...
and the magazine states the SS will get the same wheels and engine as the sedan (no less kW like they did for the Adventra) and will also be available in both auto and Manual... (hello SS-V Wag with a Clutch!)![]()
harri
The Chrome strip on the boot looks wierd, just dont look right eh.
It mite look a bit better if there was another strip just above the bumper tho, i think......

I like it, I'd prefer to buy the wagon over the sedan, much more usefull and doesn't look like it will weigh anymore. Seems to be as close to a Hatchback as Holden is willing to make
This is a complete assumption but one of the reasons to choose the SWB over the LWB would be in keeping with the "sports" image cause no doubt the shorter the car is it would handle better.
Theres that and if it is competing with SUV's it i more attractive and still has more space than most SUV's.
I did hear a while ago that apparently the wagon handled better than the sedanbut that will soon be revealed.
I prefer driving a wagon over a sedan, epecially helpfull being as i play bass in a brass band that can take up half a wagon boot by itself. it is not an easy thing to fit in the boot of a sedan as i am finding with my 04 VY sedan.
