Yeah - I often see the HSV's on the back of the semi... you can tell by the black bumpers and steel rims.
Which makes me wonder.. how much is done at the elizabeth plant... and how much do they have to replace... and do they send parts back to the general to be refitted into the next batch of HSV's.
Think about it ... Motor, trans, suspension, seats, door trims, bumpers, headlights, tail lights, front guards, exhaust, brakes, wheels & tyres, badges, bonnets, stereos, ... that's a lot of rebuilding to do, and a lot of extra cost.
They should amalgamate in the factory ... imagine getting an HSV for the price of an SSV

...remind me again why Holden doesn't have the development money to work on a proper turbo diesel V6? Oh that's right...they are too busy wasting money on bigger and bigger V8's for a shrinking large car market when petrol is edging up near $2 a liter...
...smart move Holden...

Firstly, this has NOTHING to do with this thread...
But since you piped up. Holden and HSV have both recorded RECORD sales for V8 in 2007 and it hasn't slowed down in 2008. HSV have a 3 month back list of orders to fill.
Want a deisel, buy a Volkswagen!
Can't afford a V8? Don't buy one. Personally, I couldn't care less if petrol was $3 a litre. I'd still own and drive two V8s.

A crate LS3 is around 6.5k/7k, so I doubt we'd see HSV sell them for less than 5k..
Thats engine only btw.
