Can I get your opnion on these wheels

Hi folks

I've had a vision - my SSV is red with black track stripes... now that I have dechromed my holden badges and painted them black, I'm starting to feel that the silver rims look out of place.

I love the orgional 19's ... don't want to change them, but have suddenly thought about painting them black.

I tend to find black wheels a bit too "I wen't overboard with the tyre black" ... BUT suddenly got inspiration from the new camaro and the Coupe 60..... a pin stripe along the edge which breaks it up.

So with the magic of Photoshop... I have created the attached.

My opinion... love it... the black with the stripe looks super tough and stealth... am now finding the silver rims soften down the whole look of the car.

What do you all think?

Looks OK to me.

All black rims are hard to see so with a bit of highlight on the edges. No problemo.

Yeah the edging makes it I reckon. As I said earlier - my inspiration is the coupe 60 and new camaro.

Looks ok, im a bit 50/50 on the idea. I think a darker glossiers black would maybe look better, a different style of black mag would look better i think, And im toying with the idea it would look alot better if the headlights were tinted and maybe red calipers too. Just my 2c

Thanks for that.... was thinking about the red stripe tyres... but after seeing Cous' phtoshopping, I think I prefer the thin stripe on the wheel as I have done.

Painting my wheels matte black with a satin clear coat was one of the best mods I've done yet.

My main reason was to make the brake dust a lot less of an issue (especially with the HSV brakes!) and I also happen to think it looks awesome!

I am contemplating a thin red stripe around the outer rim of the wheels though just to break up the black of the wheels and tyres, about 2mm - 5mm wide. Maybe.

As for blackening the badges, I would if I could. Somehow I don't think the "307", "R8" and the two side "CLUBSPORT" badges would be as easy to blacken as the bonnet and bootlid HSV logo badges...

Yeah... I'm the same with the SS badges on the back and sides. I think you can go overboard some times too.... better to keep a balance.

Nobody said anything about getting red highlights on the tyres.
