VE radiator cover
For those that dont like the look of the exposed radiator such as this
can buy a cover like this-which doesn't come on late model VE's but were on 2006 models.
part number is
baffle rad air #92179987 for V6 $28.50
#92183726 for V8
plastic clip in rivets (5 of) #92138219 $2.22 each

I also noticed the deletion of this part. For $40 odd bucks, I think I'll buy this.

Forgot to mention: when you fill the windscreen water bottle to the top, do you notice the water coming out of a rubber hose at the drivers end? Is this normal?

its a breather or overflow, dont know why theyve got them,
another reason for ditching the shroud could be because it covers the two front airbox lid clips, make it a lot more time consuming for servicing? thats what i thought of besides there saving money not having them there

It's odd because none of my previous model commodores had anything like this. When I filled them, they just filled to the top! Oh well, it's no big deal, I just wanted to know if its normal. Thanks for the prompt response!

The breather is there to let air out as water enters the filler bottle. The reason they had to do this is because the filler is on the opposite side to the washer bottle, and they had to use a long tube to go across the front of the car.Without the breather there it would glug back up the filler tube making it hard to fill because air would be coming out.
If it is leaking from the side that the filler opening is on,it's got a broken filler tube.It is the convoluted tube that cracks and is a very common problem.I've replaced quite a few at the first service, and on one brand new car at pre-delivery.
