What is this????
I was cleaning the car this afternoon (VE-SS manual) and found this under the passenger seat.
Does anybody know what this is for. The wiring goes in under the left rear seat mount and then under the carpet. Given the double sided tape on it, it obviously fell down from under the seat. Anybody got any clues??

bingo!!!
its a reverse sensor display.......... and aftermarket one at that
did you buy this ve brand new
and did you order reverse sensors
if you said yes to all 2 of these
then you have been screwed over by holden as they have done the dodgy and fitted aftermarket sensor kit and not a genuine holden kit

Thanks for the info Guys. Yeah checked it out and it is the revering sensor display.
Yeah I got Screwed, I asked for reversing sensors on the car, but didn't check if what they were going to fit was genuine. This is what I got. Thanks heaps though. I've put it back in place under the seat now.
Cheers

And this is why when reverese parking sensors are an option, you should have IN WRITING that they'll be factory fitted.
Dealers will rip you off every chance they get!

Wonder how many other customers have been cheated like that. I reckon it would be worth looking at the purchasing invoice and taking the matter up with the relevant Consumer Affairs department for your state. It's a reasonable expectation that, when purchasing a new car, if you order an option that the manufacturer can provide, then you should only get the factory supplied kit, not some two-bob effort from China.

Quite a lot I would imagine. Wouldn't surprise me AT ALL... I have always said to people who buy cars with reverse parking sensors as an option to make sure their documentation specifies FACTORY FITTED. For this exact reason!
Although a lot of components in the new VE do come from China

I had a look over the weekend at my sales invoice. It says $495 for the reversing sensors. I assumed that was Factory. There is a long history with these sensors, see other threads. I know they fittted the cheapest they could because we screwed them on price, and got the window tint, floor mats, reversing sensors etc without actually paying for them. Hey its a lesson learnt. It wont happen again on the next one!!

I don't know how reliable these cheap kits are, but the point was raised about covering them under the vehicle's warranty. Imagine taking it to some other dealer when the sensors play up and asking them to repair them. Their reaction might be interesting. Unless they're crooks too, of course.
