Yeah its exiting for a second or two when you first try it but you realize that there isn't really anything exciting you can do with it so the excitement runs out fairly quickly.

As said the novelty wears off, but the info is useful.

Another novelty (but can be usefull for some) is pressing the two buttons that dim or brighten the dash lights at the same time...It's amazing what little things you find that you never new existed when you read the manual!

Every car I get, I spend as long as it takes, sitting in it and read the manual from cover to cover. Sure, I skim over the obvious pages but I knew about the dash lights out option from day one of my VE Calais.

Even though the VE Clubsport is based on the VE Calais, I did the same thing when I upgraded. Sat in the car and read the manual cover to cover.

Heres another one - not in the manual though...

Turn the ignition key to accessories.

Make sure the audio unit is switched off with just the time and date on display.

Press the right arrows on the track button, the right arrows on the disc button and the volume/power button on the right all at the same time and hold. Hold for about 7 to 10 seconds. (buttons will be in different locations on different models)

The unit will now display on the LCD screen ‘Service Mode’ and then automatically go into its menu. It will time out in about 10 seconds if you don’t action the menu.

The menu will display among other things the 12/24 hour clock mode. Scroll with the menu button on the left and use it the same as you would for your normal menu operations.

Once the setting has been changed exit out. When you do, the audio unit will start to load the first disc if you have any in the player. It will take about 20 seconds to reset itself so be patience.

I wanted to change to 24hr time for SOOOO long and when I heard about this I did and it works exactly as it's written. I now have a 24hr time display
